James had similar issues as you did I believe. Definitely a clomage if a Christopher Ward moonglow. I personally find it a little strange that they went with CW as a company to “homage” since for the most part they are attainable luxury time pieces. Def had a nice sweeping motion on the seconds hand which is nice to see. In order to properly test the moon phase you would need to set it at full moon and manually wind it 28 days to the next full moon and see, and or set to full moon (when it is a full moon our) and compare it one week later and two weeks later to see. As always great and honest review. Welly Merck will no longer be on dial once the ones they have in stock are out and gone they will just have the wm logo on it as they have rebranded their name based on feedback. Once they rebrand as WM versus Welly Merck, I think they have potential. The more competition out there the better it is for us. It’s been a while since I saw you outright not recommend something. Hopefully they take it positive feedback and improve their future watches. Thanks!

I generally don’t get watches in that I don’t think look really good, hence why I recommend most but this one isn’t good enough tbh and yes, WM Watch is now what they’re called and I will call them that on watches where they are branded as such 👍👍

It is showing moon phase but these cheapo moonphase movements tend to rotate in a 28 day cycle which means the display will need synching more often. For the price it's hard to complain, though others have commented a Sugess moonphase performs better. For me this is an example of a cheap copy that doesn't really compare with the watch it's aping. I believe the moonphase on that one keeps in synch for well over a hundred years. I can't imagine it running so long without a service though. 😂

It's representing the 28-day cycle of the moon (actually 29.5 days). The jerk every 24 hours is the movement of one day. For a ton, that's a pretty good representation. I'm a big fan of MP's - Glycine Combat MP, RW Maestro MP, and IWC Portofino MP. I was never that fussed about the CW MP which this fromages, though its a good looker.

@WatchtheTime Yeah, that is an odd one. A lot of the high-end stuff does it, as I'm sure you know. I believe it might be something to do with the way the moon is viewed from the Northan or the Southern hemisphere. But I can't wrap my head around it. However, those ones have the second moon partially viewable, where this WM puts it under glass 👍

@WatchtheTime that's how a moonphase watch works.... 2 moons, showing the waxing and waning of the moon. I have the Sugess Moonphase which is a real beauty, you only ever see one moon on the display....the one you reviewed looks shoddy

I told the store them self, they are advertising this as a moonphase watch. Which is impossible. The mooncycle is 29.5 days. The moons are connected to the date wheel, so 31 days. Sounds like a pagani brand 😅

The only good thing about this watch is the name. I am the proud owner of two Bernys, a Tactical Frog and a Mysterious Code; they are all great pieces and wonderful value for money. You just need a sense of humour and/or adventure. I'm still looking for the Muff brand which does a diver watch! Cheers 🍻!

When the moon reaches the new moon phase it is at the 3 o’clock position. To start the waxing phase the moon needs to be at the 9 o’clock position. New moon lasts less than 24 hours. The moon would have speed around the dial to emerge at the 9 o'clock position. One moon disappears and the waxing moon appears.
