Talking about tires, at 17:50, a tire that old could explode and hes looking right at it. Recommending to any viewer if you lower or buy a lowered car, check the camber and toe.

Yeah, I would not have put air in that tyre and certainly not standing beside it.

The camber and toe were not the problem. Tire is under inflated.

Hey Paul, you might want to be careful with that 6.2. GM is having a big problem with them spinning bearings and locking up the motor. I don't know what year yours is but it's on the later model years that they're having problems with. Just F.Y.I. 👍

I used to work for a tire manufacturer and have seen this problem before. It’s not an alignment problem. That tire wear problem is from under inflation. Even if you are at the spec PSI, it’s not enough to hold the weight. They sell low profile tires that have “EW” somewhere in their description to designate extra weight, but even those need 4 or 5 PSI so you aren’t destroying the tires every 15k or so. Good luck!

Just for the record Michelle, I have run tires until the cords were showing like that all the way across the contact patch of the tire, the wires actually wore completely away . Driven way to many miles down the highway like that. Never lost a tire. Age is what makes tires dangerous. Putting a vehicle back on the road after 20 years and running them on the highway is more dangerous than a few cords showing.

Way back, a long time ago, I hung around a service station with my Dad. Dad was friends with the owner and helped out pumping gas, fixing flats, etc. I remember they had a machine to clean spark plugs and I cleaned a bunch of plugs for them at no charge because it was so much fun. We only replaced plugs if the porcelain was broken or if the electrode was so worn we couldn’t set the gap.

How ironic this video was! I recently took my car to the repair shop because my rear passenger tire had a slow leak. They told me that the tire was so bad that they wouldn't even let me drive it home. The scary thing is I had just drove to the big city a few days prior and it could have blown out doing 70 mph. They said all my tires were wearing out on the inside, so they did an alignment, but the adjusters didn't work so we are getting those replaced too. So glad we both got it taken care of before a disaster happened.

Absolutely love those new old style crewcab Dodges with a Cummins! Such a great combination when paired with a beast of the Diesel. Be cool to make a Fabrat style Mini Grampa Shurrm with a hydrologic crane with outriggers & 4BT. Smaller cranes like we run on service trucks are sweet & crazy flexible. Seen a guy with a folding one mounted on his gooseneck, that was crazy handy... like a log truck self loader with winch. That made me wish I had one! I'm sure whatever you deside to make will be sweet! Modern axles like the Packrat so it can be driven & used flawlessly at freeway speeds... Merlin is going to be Jelious! 😆

The screw compressors are great. All the fans for cooling are pretty noisy, but you don't have to hear the standard compression strokes of a old school style compressor. The 2 I'm familiar with both had issues with the water elimination systems. They had what reminded me of a dehumidifier built into them.

Putting oil on the O-ring doesn't help it seal. It helps keep it from sticking when you go to change it the next time which can make it almost impossible to get filter off and possibly interfering with the seal of the new filter. Should also make sure O-ring is on the old filter when you take it off so all the oil doesn't leak out from double stacked O-rings blowing your engine. Buddy had his oil changed on his 2 year old Silverado at a place and they didn't make sure the old O-ring came off with old filter. Oil change place wasn't real happy, but they had to replace his engine, or at least their insurance did.

Dodge is a 41 or 42 Dodge WC 1/2 ton closed cab military truck. It looks like a series 3 since it has the round military gauges. Series 1 & 2 used the civilian square gages, so likely a 42. Fuel gauge will be marked "gas", not "fuel. That would make it a 1942 T214, series 3, WC40 weapons carrier most likely.
