Sooooooo sad. 😰 When he talks about other nations joining them to clean up the world. There's no way the people of Europe, China, Russia , Middle East Mexico and the U.S.A.. won't do anything. Corporations are running most of our world. Bhutan is off the grid. Corporations and the banks don't care about the future of Earth they only care about profit now. They certainly don't care about happiness! The only thing governments care about are power & control. The people of Bhutan are happy with very little. They have a home on their own land. They have food and health care. They live without the stress of our lives. I watched this great documentary series on Bhutan and the people are glowing with happiness and living with simplicity.
@risemahadeva
@risemahadeva 4 жыл бұрын
@@ARCH-INNERGY So true! I've said this elsewhere but, I wish America would wake up. We need to make drastic changes in our lives. I believe that one effective way to counter the corporations mindset is to get them where it hurts--their pockets. If we would scale back in our purchases (this is just one way). Most of us spend money unnecessarily in that we buy things that we already own not because it's no longer functioning but because we just want the newer version. I dare say that many of us probably already earn enough money to live comfortably, but we won't save or we try to live above our means. We keep falling prey to the brainwashing mantras we're inundated with through tv, phones, heck, the gas pump screens. "You deserve this." "Treat yourself." "Your kids will adore you if you get them this." "You'll be the envy of your neighborhood if you buy this." "You'll catch that man/woman's attention if you wear this, smell like this, if you look like this." WE buy gimmicky items like 'spinners' that are now no longer of interest and have been discarded into landfills by the thousands along with all of the other gimmicky or still usable items that have been manufactured, purchased and discarded over the years. I'm not saying it's going to be easy to change, cause it's not. It's going to take sacrifice on our part and will at times be a great inconvenience. It will also be monetarily costly for us and for our federal and state governments to bring about these changes, but they simply HAVE to be done because the consequences and costs of not changing is going to be much, much greater.
@ARCH-INNERGY
@ARCH-INNERGY 4 жыл бұрын
@@risemahadeva I agree with you and have thought the same way. Too many people are so brain washed by watching T.V. which is a fear installer. So much of T.V.s programming is used to ignite subconscious and conscious fear. That fear turns to stress, stress needs to be numbed because most people are too "afraid" to face fear. So they numb out by having addictions which all media is pushing. The addition to buying stuff, eating all the bad food, , alcohol, drugs ecxetra, ecxetra. They have blinders on and don't want or think they can change.

In India, the roads were polluted, traffics were not managed properly, but walking for few minutes to reach the Bhutanese border, the place was extremely clean, co-operative people and many things, that have remained only in dreams to be in a country, for which no words can describe how beautiful it was. He is incredible, one of the most inspiring & passionate person I have ever seen! Really appreaciate how Bhutan, their king(s) and people truly care about the Earth. How great would it be if many more countries and leaders follow suit by reducing emission and produce green sustainable energy. Instead of creating a mess and exploit the Earth for humans greed, Lets take care of our ONE AND ONLY EARTH, people! One step at a time! Here are some easy things we can do, Simply : *. Actively Reduce / avoid using plastics bags/one time used plastics (like plastic spoons, straws, cup, etc). *. Turn off the lights/tv/electronics when not in used. *. Do not burn trash/things because it create very harmful and dangerous gas for human & Earth. *. Be mindful when using water, don't waste water when washing your face/shower/etc, because many countries have no access to clean water because many water sources are already contaminated/polluted from irresponsible dumping from companies/factories/people. Lets be the change! Together we can create a positive impact for Mother Nature! 😇

In a country that largely consists of forests and where hydroelectric power stations can easily be built and also has very few inhabitants, one can easily speak of CO2 neutral. This can hardly be achieved in any other country. Telling others that they should do the same as them is complete nonsense. Perhaps he should think about the increase in CO2 in the atmosphere, which has been 0.014% since the industrial revolution (272 years ago). Humanity is responsible for about 4% of this, so for 0.04 x 0.014 = 0.00056%, that is about 1/180,000th part of the CO2 in the atmosphere. If he thinks that's why glaciers are melting, he needs to prove it before pointing out others. The question is whether he has understood the calculation of the ICCP, or whether he simply accepts it, like almost everyone else.

I had a chance to visit Bhutan back in January, 2019. What started off as a budget backpacking trip with friends ended up being a memorable life lesson that I will cherish forever. The simplicity, the tradition, and the people will make you fall in love with this magnificent place. Love how simple and hard working these people are, and how they're just not willing to give up at any cost. Really puts your thoughts into perspective, this trip was for me to find clouds on top of mountains but I ended up finding myself.

hey did you know that there are open donations for ecological interests that can serve to ease bhutan's woes? If you can afford to, I really highly suggest you look into local charities you can donate a 20 to, or volunteer your time at. Anything and everything helps. If there's nothing near you that gets you interested, try looking at how to donate to reforestation and carbon sink efforts to really undo the effects of carbon emissions. I don't know if these are available but I'm sure we can find it together if it's out there. I had a hard time finding local efforts until I asked all my friends who were outdoors-y and hike-y and they knew all the details of local orgs. We can fix this through our effort! be outraged, and be optimistic

The coast has NOT changed. what???? are you saying that global warming has NOT melted the ice to raise the ocean like the climate change alarmists say? NOPE not at all. Oh lets see... Florida, Yup the coast is still the same today as it was many years ago. AND if you look it up the glaciers in Greenland are LARGER at the center than they were - The Polar Bears are doing JUST FINE, in fact they are doing great. See if you look into history - THE CLIMATE CHANGES..... DUH. Glaciers Melt, Glaciers Freeze. IT happens. When I was a little girl, the great scare was that we were all going to freeze- oh yes, it was even reported in Time Magazine that we were going into an Ice age. So yes, be good to the environment, but do not be fooled. Do NOT fall prey to a political agenda that ONLY wants to control you. So many of them are still not even doing the basics right like carrying their own bag to the grocery store. Single-use plastic is still rampant. It is just a handful of environmentally conscious people who are doing what they can. The rest- well, all they do is just vote and then relax, expecting the government to take over.

What you see is a persona you have no idea what's inside him I'll tell you one thing he's a liar because he pushes climate change pretty insulting to listen to when we've had decades of weather modification. Pretty insulting to hear anyone claim negative carbon when he himself is carbon based life, when planes spray the skies, when they use something to heat their homes, and some sort of fuel for the production of the electricity they sell. The point is, climate change is the use of weather warfare droughts floods, cloud cover over the sun rain, snow hail can all be and is manufactured.

I wish the world could adopt the holistic and nurturing values of Bhutan. Unfortunately, much of the world has been engulfed but greed and superficiality. We think too much of ourselves, and not of others and the world. I want to have hope for the humanity, but realistically, we are too sick. We are addicted to consuming, seeking luxuries and comfort, trying to impress people we don't even know, and not batting an eyelash to what consequences it all has. Not enough people want change because we are so offended by the discomfort of introspection and empathy. I just hope that when humanity has destroyed itself, nature will recover and forgive us for the pain that we caused it. Good work, Bhutan. Continue to fight the good fight, even in the midst of indomitable odds.

I’m a Genuine Bhutanese since my Birth but I was evicted when I was one or two years. Had to leave a life of a refugee in eastern part of Nepal for more than two decades. I’m very fortunate of being Bhutanese refugee because where in the world many people even don’t know about it. I had hard time to survive as refugee but in next I had free school in English medium. At present I’m living in USA and Bhutan’s prime minister Tshering Tobgay came to my yard and sending messages to the world where I’m from. Time flies and memories becomes stories.

There were cases during the 1980s where genuine Bhutanese were evicted from their homes( I won’t deny it ) by the local authorities of those places because of the false propaganda spread by those dissidents and their leaders and promising the protestors they would be given high political positions after all the facade. Some were even forced to take part in the protests even though they were reluctant otherwise they would’ve been killed which would explain the most for those in the camps saying they are genuine Bhutanese. Anyways though I do not know what it is like to live the life of refugees I do empathize and share my condolences to you.

This got me tears in my eyes. I never thought that a small country like Bhutan can give this much impact to me, personally. My heart was sinking as he was telling the story on what is happening to their glaciers. I felt so guilty! My actions (and billions of others) caused those but they were the ones who suffered and they weren't even doing anything bad. This is the kind of approach my own country needs. I hope I am not the only one watching it from the 🇵🇭.

ranadip mallick oh wow aren't you edgy. If you think only Christians and Muslims are guilty of sectarianism you are mistaken. Buddhists do it too but in the west everyone looks at them thru rose lenses. In fact Bhutan has Christians and they are a persecuted minority. The only reason Bhutan can even claim this worthless title of "carbon negative" is that they are underdeveloped and have access to cheap hydroelectric power.

the ideas are too disruptive to be officially endorsed, the idea that any economy can be successful without constant growth is pretty unorthodox and would rob alot of key people of their power. Of course those people will love to visit this country and admire it, but to take it's success seriously as a model for the western world is unthinkable(if you have any taste for power at all)
