The M235i and the M240 will be a great option too. Few more years they will be priced close to the 135i now. I don't think the 135i will go any cheaper than it is. You can find a good example 135i for $15,000 USD or a M235i $25,000 USD.

My car sounds exactly the same as this one with the pops and bangs ONLY when manual mode is selected and I hit the gas and then leave in overrun. When I leave it in regular auto mode with or without sport mode on there are no pops and bangs.. so you could say I can choose when to have them or not

This is 135i, the m135i was the f series hatchback. I had n 08 n54 135i with an mhd stg1+ map and it was awesome. Great cars! Now I've got the e91 335i for family life as I need 4 doors. Miss the coupe but love the touring stance albeit a heavier car. Each to their own but that burble would drive me mad, mines set to medium but only 1sec duration. Just enough to hear it but short and not ott.

I had the aggressive burble for a week then turned it down. It was fun while it lasted, but it was just too much. Not worried about cost of fuel really, but I sure did decrease my mileage by a lot having the burble. 2008 135i M-Sport with 60k miles currently in the shop for a massive coolant leak. Why are these water pumps so expensive? MHD is the best tuner for these cars. Change my mind.

Had a manual 135i with Birds quaife package and very good. It's doesn't need more power in stock form, but if you do go big numbers, it needs the LSD.

I want the M2, I can afford the 135i. Since the only thing I would be losing out on my purchasing the 135i over the M2 is the wide body and the diff. The power and everything else can me equated. With a tune, suspension upgrade, wheels and tires it's 99%✓ of the M2. The engine, DCT, interior, seats! All amazing bargain! I can't believe this car exists! It's going to be a classic 💪

I don’t know is this car will continue to go under the radar for years to come but trust me. If you really drive this car how it likes if you push it and make it come alive. It is an absolute monster from factory. It just roars and picks up like a motor bike.

Just a quick point, the old m2 your referring to was called a 1M. This car doesn't have the same engine as a 1M. 1M has n54, early 135i did have the same engine. This one has an n55, which is an early version of, but not the same as the M2 engine. Those pops sound crap.

Had a hella of alot of fun in my 135iM but it not having an Lsd really killed it for me. Also I turned the burble tune off, it was annoying to me after awhile

i got one last year. 2011 135i m sport @ 55k miles. previous owner already installed dinan intercooler, oil cooler, exhaust, and bbs ch-r wheels. went back n forth with all the models that were about 10 yrs old. have no regrets picking the bulldog.

I think this is Doug Demuros favorite car. Hard to find here in the USA. Very cool car that I would love to drive except for the gun shots coming out of the exhaust. For now, the M2 will have to do here in the States or... just drive an Abarth. Also, might be only 15k cost but has 95k miles which is quite a bit.

Not knowing the details of the car but if it is really a M135i, the chassis is certainly not "great" in fact, it's absolute cr4p and does it really have a DCT gearbox?

This is an interesting vid but it's good content for those aspiring to own top performance on a reasonable budget. The sound of the exhaust is off putting, a simple trajectory of contemporary turbocharged car: fast, massive bhp with fake pops and bangs. Please do feature some naturally aspirated sports cars on your channel to inject more diversity of programme. Nice car in terms of the looks but I would not want to live in the same street as the owner, it sounds anti-social.
