Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez simply 'destroyed' Kirkland in this fight. I remember watching this fight live, and boy, that vicious 3rd-round KO was so sweet. I also remember the funny, pre-fight comments by Kirkland on how he was going to be 'on him [Canelo] at all times.' I knew who the winner was going to be - a no brainer really - as Canelo only had 1 loss at the time, to the undefeated and one of the most smartest boxers in the sport, Floyd Mayweather, Jr. But nothing prepared me for that 3rd-round punch that simply 'destroyed' Kirkland and stropped him fully in his tracks.
