Triangle Cave ruined my life A couple months ago, I made the map "Triangle Cave." At the time, I was somewhat proud of the map. It wasnt my best work but it also definitely wasnt my worst. The map had one problem though: the gameplay. The gameplay was horrible and essentially forced one strat, and that strat uses the tower "Elite defender" crosspathed with shrapnel, making it absolutely garbage and unusable. Slender then hack verified it and it was verified by paul months later. But this is not why the map ruined my life. Let me tell you how it did. After triangle cave was uploaded, i lost all motivation to create. It had nothing to do with the negative reception to the map or its bad gameplay, but something else. You see, the map was simply cursed, I assume it caught a whiff of Slender's BO while he was verifying and decided to get revenge on all of humanity because of it. Triangle cave kickstarted the worst map creating trend in the history of all time (black rock cave maps) where creators essentially just copied triangle cave deco but made it hot ass and just carelessly spammed black rocks everywhere, ruining the cave map genre permanently. All I see in submissions now are black rock cave maps. It reminds me everyday about the horror of a map i created and I honestly dont see a reason to continue living. the problem i have with maps like this is that they are so boring to actually play. There is one strategy that works, and nothing else, its feels dull, and like the map was made specificly for this strat and nothing else

honestly funny how usable shrapnel defender has become these days, it's still the lesser crosspath for outright damage but with the added camo damage and base moab damage, it actually provides some really nice crowd control. it's also a good example of how busted alc buffs are cause 2 top paths alternating almost brings its damage back up to par, mostly through the added peirce though lol

Towers like the elite defender with top path always works the same on all maps as long as it can see because no projevtile missing and shrapnal line up so towers like that such as specture works, bez works if the lanes are close, etc

Its really good design that its easier in the beginning, so the hard part is finding the actual strategy and not just finding every pixel perfect placement to be able to progress past round 6 (cough cough bloody puddles)

it means that usualy, but in this case, black bordering lets say round 79 to 80 means doing both of those rounds without losing, and when you lose on 80, you have to go back to 79, and not start of 80 instead

black border means beating a chimps run in one go without ever quitting out or retrying last round, to get black border you also have to have all other medals on a map which is impossible on this map because of modes like primary only not letting u get the sniper

Most people in maplist refer to beating multiple hard rounds in a row as "black bordering" the round. Additionally, rounds that must be beat without dying (due to a number of factors) are called forced black border rounds. A black border in itself is just beating chimps without dying. But it's also used as a loose term
