Still using LMMS, I love the workflow For the things that can be explained, CTRL+CLICK+DRAG on a clip will duplicate it CTRL+CLICK+DRAG outside of a clip lets you do a box selection You can CTRL+CLICK to select or deselect a clip With that in mind, you can do fancy operations like duplicating a clip, selecting both clips, duplicating both clips, now having 4 clips. You would then repeat the process, and the amount of clips on your song editor timeline would be exponential. There's a preferences option that lets you enable note labels. The nightly release of LMMS has a knife tool for cutting up a sample. If you click-drag a clip and then press CTRL you can move it around without it snapping to a grid. You can zoom in with CTRL+SCROLL for more precise control. The pianoroll has a bunch of shortcuts to help with placing notes. The CTRL+CLICK+DRAG thing does box selection there too. SHIFT+CLICK+DRAG on a group of notes duplicates them If you have multiple notes selected and change the length of one, they all change length. If you shift+click+drag the edge of a note in a selection, you stretch/warp the selection of notes. If you shift+click+drag the edge of a single note without having anything else selected, everything after the note will offset to accommodate the new length of the note. The nightly version of LMMS adds channels for sample tracks. It's not in 1.2.2. I'll note sampling and recording are both very very premature in LMMS. Most people use AudioFileProcessor plugin and load their sample in that instead, as that can be sent to any fx channel. LMMS' strength lies mostly in MIDI and synthesizers. When you click on an instrument in the song editor, you get an "instrument window" that opens up. In the top right of that window you have a number that looks like it belongs on a calculator. That's the fx-channel number. Additionally, you can click the cog next to an instrument and there's an fx-dropdown in there that lets you choose which channel to send to. When a window goes out of reach, you use the scrollbar at the bottom and right of LMMS' interface. It's an infinite workspace.

@donnysoal9748
@donnysoal9748 9 ай бұрын
@@georgerosebush9754 While there are ways of doing that, you are better off using a secondary software like Audacity or smtn. I never meant that it was the perfect software, but it was really nice for me as an easy beginner's software. There are probably better free softwares nowadays (haven't really looked) but as someone that pretty much just grew up making terrible videogame ripoff kinda songs it wasn't that bad, really easy midi integration at least, I've only recently actually started experimenting with more than just Midi stuff and I do see the limitations. There are effects you can add that let you change the audio, but since almost all of them don't have custom GUI, it means it's all just twiddling knobs meaning if you don't know what each means you're pretty screwed in that department.
