I am a long-run Ableton user and I recently bought Waveform Pro. Watching this is not only showing me that I don't need another extra midi tool, but I start wondering if I need another DAW... Thanks for your great videos and for your very unique approach. You're definitely not like others.

Thanks, that’s very nice to hear!

This is awesome bro!!! I'm going to be watching these vids multiple times to learn this DAW. What sold me is you can automate submixes. The other DAW I use you couldn't do that even on the paid version

Thank you so much for pointing out this feature, and for such a well done video. I look forward to the next hidden gem you show us!

Wow. That was quite informative. I look forward to playing around with those midi tools. Thanks. Cheers

Great, thanks Brendan. Glad to hear it! You can also add chords one by one if you like, or you can have different chords on each individual midi clip. That could be useful for jazzy stuff like stacking related chords to have different extensions on each voice. For example, C in the bass with Em above it would make a C Major 7 chord. Alternatively, having a C Major chord in the upper voice with, say, a G in the bass can have a nice unresolved floating quality. I must do some videos about that stuff soon. It’s easier to explain with musical examples.

@@tracktionwaveformtips I look forward to those upcoming vids. (I better brush up on some music theory in the meantime). Cheers

I’ll try to take it slow to begin with. I know a lot of cool jazz theory but might start with baby steps. It took a long time for me to get to grips with theory too, but it seems straightforward to me now. Hopefully my videos will be informative and easily digestible.

It's nice to see some coverage on waveform, nice job! The ability to filter the midi editor with notes in key is very nice.

I hate that all those midi tools are not working as a midi modificators for already written melody.... :(

This is so cool, and on their website they are selling "midi producer", what is that and what it is used for, if you could guide that would be awesome

Thanks. That’s a great video idea too. I’ll get on that soon. As I recall, it’s lots of this kind of stuff, chord track etc, plus some vsts. Looks like a good deal.

I bought waveform 12 pro recently... I really hope not too much stuff will be included in the free version! 😅🤣🤣
@tracktionwaveformtips2 жыл бұрын
I hear what you’re saying! I just figured out last night that I can demo Waveform 12 with only the free features and you’ll be glad to hear that most of it is Pro only. I’ll have to investigate it deeper later but so far I know that there’s no Chord Track in Free, and that’s central to so much of this video. I suspect it may be still possible to do it per track in Free but I’ll have to check that later.

I’ll see if I can do a video about the midi tools in Waveform Free 12 later today. It’ll probably be a very short one compared to this!

These Midi tools are great. But they only seem to work with clips generated by the chord track. I've imported my own four bar chord progression ( created in Scaler 2) onto a new track, but none of the midi tools shown here work.
@tracktionwaveformtips2 жыл бұрын
Yeah you’ll have to manually input the chord names into the chord track to match your Scaler 2 chords, then they’ll both work hand in hand. What’s Scaler 2 like? Seems to be similar features to this.

Do you think these MIDI Tools really suitable for making music electronic music or can be used for any genre? please share your thoughts.
@tracktionwaveformtips Жыл бұрын
Since they're generally MIDI based tools, they're mostly suitable for anything MIDI related, so theoretically any genre could be created. If you're recording acoustic instruments or a rock band etc, these tools probably wouldn't be of much use to you though.
