This Day Just Keeps Getting Better & Better!

What started out as a cloudy day just kept getting better!
We departed from our overnight at Lock #30, Lovesick (goo.gl/maps/TxxwnTb8F58SFunU6) and downbound to Islandview Resort (goo.gl/maps/5e5B1kuwbgfv4ork7) at Youngs Point - all along Ontario, Canada's 240 mile long Trent Severn Waterway.
This video is part of our glorious 5-1/2 week long cruise that takes us from Lake Simcoe, through dozens of locks and right down to 'Mile Zero' of the Trent Severn Waterway. Indeed, but I must say that our summer was, for the most part, sunny and hot. And for now, we won't even talk about the week's long howling winds we had to put up with on our return voyage. I'll save that for a future video 😉

The Church on the rock. We did that section of the Trent this past August. Rice lake to top of Kirkfield and then back. Great job capturing that area. We stayed in Deer bay one hot night.

This past year was incredibly verdant, with all of the plants so fully and green right up to the end of October. That rain we were all complaining about in the Spring really brought everything out in full and complete bloom. Another season that I am so grateful for.

Thats the way its done! I can't wait to one day venture over to Lock 1 and start a voyage up through the Trent. My Uncle has a cottage on Rice (As did my family). I am interested to see what Lake Ontaree-airy-ooh boating has to offer. We never ventured too far on Rice. Fun Video as always.

Well, if it's any help, you can look forward to some lovely scenery through Rice Lake, down to Trenton and beyond. Of course, there's gonna be a few pretty stops along the way - including (spoiler alert) a fun docking at Lock 8 on our way downbound. Don't worry, no damage, as the lockmaster was super helpful in averting any fibreglass repairs to Boogaboo 😉

@@BikeBoatandTravel Yes, there was a 350 over at the joint next door, Youngs Point Marina. We have a couple/three of them at our marina these days, including new neighbors who relocated there from Krates last summer. Not sure if I ever mentioned it before, but leading up to the purchase of our 300 Sundancer, an older version of the 32 Mariner was top of our list, but couldn't get the seller (or his agent at least) to cooperate with us. Oh well, that would have only broke our streak of too many Sea Rays in a row, so I guess it wasn't meant to be 😉

Actually, I've only ever stepped foot on Youngs Point Marina, and that was to pick up some emergency mechanical repair parts - but that's a story for another video 😉 That said, we had another wonderful visit at Islandview Resort and Marina. If you ever get to visit yourself, be sure to mention us to the owner, Keith, and be sure to check out the Lock 27 Tap and Grille located on site. Great food with very generous portions! Let us know when you start posting videos from your new toys. Would love to see what you get up to, even if it's just some off season views for now. . .

My mistake Paul, I meant Island view Resort and Marina. I was looking at photos from our cruise last year (2021) on the Trent Severn and it reminded me of the time we got stiffed at Young’s Point Marina for an overnight mooring. $110.00 for tying up at their gas dock for the night… We stayed at your marina as transients the following three days and we truly enjoyed it. The marina owners and the staff were fantastic. Keep the videos coming!

We actually had an agreement on one a year ago, but seller decided he wasn't quite ready to sell and pulled out of the deal.
