Except for when Superman is up against an enemy with similar strength, he always holds back. That's why Batman wins. Even Batman knows it. In the movie, even Superman said it. In the cartoons there's been multiple moments where he's mentioned it and so has enemies, thinking they can use his good nature against him. Batman could beat Superman if he didn't holdback, but it wouldn't be a fair fight. Superman probably won't even know he's in danger, until he's unable to act his normal self and gets hurt. Batman can only win if he plans in advance and plants kryptonite everywhere and lures Superman, so that he's near kryptonite. If superman one day decides to fly to Gotham and kill Batman, he'd win every time. If a way more powerful being somehow paired them both up snd them them fight one another, superman would win everytime. He could very easily kill Batman before he even thinks about reacting. Superman is nearly as fast as the flash, and is roughly just as strong as a very angry hulk. Batman can't compete against that fairly and needs kryptonite. Supposedly kryptonite only works so well against him in comics. If he wanted to, he could still move faster than the rays and land a death blow before the kryptonite affects him.

Dr. Fate is Literally the god of ORDER. Personality wise he's a mix of his avatar and Fate, but he is still literally channeling the god that controls and instills order in reality. Order is predictability, putting things in a line, 2+2, being able to walk, etc, all require order, all require things to act predictably for them to function, of which Dr. Fate is the embodiment of and protects.

I think a good way to put it is that Dr. Fate is a soft magic character in a fictional world almost exclusively filled with hard magic characters. The difference between hard and soft magic when writing a story is that hard magic has well-defined rules and limitations whereas soft magic systems don't. Think of the difference between Dr. Fate and Zatanna. Her magic requires her to speak backwards and she basically says exactly what she's going to do. Dr Fate on the other hand can kind of just do whatever he wants, from teleporting to the other side of the universe to planet busting feats, without moving a muscle. His magic isn't defined by any laws or regulations, so it basically lets him become a reality warper which should be more of enough of a reason for him to win 99.99% of his fights instantaneously. If he wanted to, he could just turn you to mush or a sack of ribbons, or just teleport you inside a black hole or some shit.

That's just... Not how the helmet works... There's only 1 being in the helmet which is nabu. He never lets any of his hosts willingly and freely take off the helmet. In fact, he controls their bodies and mind so yeah, agent or not, this is not how doctor fate should've been portrayed... Dc isn't ready for movies yet and it shows

Dr fate is the persona or avatar of the being Naboo. A being with such power that he is basically an eldritch being. The only thing holding him back is his own ideals. He is a God of order. If he were to enter into the world in his true form in order to bring it too order, he would create chaos.

You basically cant scale DC at high levels due to how all the writers disagree about the presence/overvoid/source, and it boils down to author word against author word. Like for example a bunch of people say Unkindness Raven beats dc because the author said he saw her as the strongest character in any universe at the time and equal to or stronger than the presence. In a prior comic the presence flat out tells trigon he and everyone else in dc is a part of him as hes present in everything. You cant beat the presence because all of DC according to that author anyway(J.M. Mattias) is just a dream his true form is creating, and when he stops dreaming everyday becomes darkness again. So even if you can beat his avatar/true form(the dog/tophat man), you can't logically beat him if you're a DC character. HOWEVER, im sure some other author disagrees with all of that... so does this mean anything? No, because you cant scale DC due to everyone who writes DC disagreeing and changing cosmology every tuesday.

I saw it as like some of kents iterations, where old kent is tired of being fate, doesnt want to let nabu or the lords of order control him, and wanted to die because he was tired of keeping it in check. And in some iterations when he died he went into the helmet to help the next weilder in harnessing the powers without giving themself comepletely to the lords of order

I normally say that magic in the MCU is only as strong as the plot needs it to be, but the truth is that anything that is undefined like magic will be like this in any movie. And comic fans need to make up their minds when they want these overpowered characters and when they don’t. It can’t just be that your guy (whoever it is) can be strong while everyone else needs to take a back seat.
