That's an amazing deck idea - and leagues more fun than what I've seen from Oswald, at least on Arena where his gameplan is basically "Tutor Paradox Engine and win". I will note however that germ tokens can't be sacrificed to Oswald, as they're not artifacts, only the equipment is.

With Shuko or plate armor reduced to 0, you don't even need another creature, you can just re-equip to the construct as much as you want

Pretty sure that doesn't work. You can't equip to the creature it's currently equipped to, and you can't just unequip. You need another valid target.

@@TheTamally you absolutely can, just people don't think about it since the most common equip with 0 equip cost is Lightning Greaves, which gives Shroud, thats why you can't re-equip that one over and over, since you can't target the shrouded creature. if it doesn't have shroud, there is nothing stopping you from re-equipping to the same creature. EDIT: even the Shuko rulings page points this out "You may activate this card’s equip ability targeting the creature that it is currently attached to, even if it’s the only creature you control. Since the equip ability costs zero, you can do this as many times as you like during your main phases, though it generally won’t do anything. (2013-04-15)"

It's not a valid target. 701.3b If an effect tries to attach an Aura, Equipment, or Fortification to an object or player it can’t be attached to, the Aura, Equipment, or Fortification doesn’t move. If an effect tries to attach an Aura, Equipment, or Fortification to the object or player it’s already attached to, the effect does nothing. If an effect tries to attach an object that isn’t an Aura, Equipment, or Fortification to another object or player, the effect does nothing and the first object doesn’t move.

Doesn't matter that the action doesn't do anything, just that its a non-mana ability on an artifact or creature. As said, even the gatherer points out very specifically that you CAN re-target the same creature, as per my previous post.

Since the construct is so important to the strategy maybe consider a pull from eternity. And with Oswald’s ability you could reliably imprint it onto an isochron scepter

I am building a Zabaz deck and I got to say, that Shuko-Crackdown combo would be great for creating a disgusting amount of +1/+1 counters, then I can just kill it, get the counters on my Ozolith and make Zabaz into a beast.

Little bit of upgrades for those who like this deck and want more I guess. Pure Steel Paladin is amazing for this, Sram is crazy card draw, all the swords (if you are a mad man who spends that money and doesn't just have these cards lying around) and the other 2 white spells that return all from your graveyard is just *French Kiss*

The first time you activate Chimeric Staff, if you pay 1, then chain the rest of the zero activations, then you can re-use it, because the final chain will make it a 1/1 before state based actions are checked, right?

No, SBA's are checked at the resolution of each ability, so once a zero cost one resolves, the staff will go to the graveyard.

Metalwork Colossus 11 mana 10/10 artifact creature. 1 cmc less to cast for cmc of non creature artifacts. And can return from gy to hand by saccing 2 artifacts.

Brave The Sands is a recommended enchantment. Let your guy block 2 creatures at once. And give it vigilance. Giving him lifelink will also be fun. Since you'll go to infinite hp

Well... You can sacrifice it with your commander to prevent it from exiling if you don't have any other option.... With decks like this one you need developed board and ideally some ace in hand

-Hey, you said you needed 2 creatures to go infinite with Equip 0, but you can actually do it with just 1. If you read the comprehensive rules for equip, it actually grants the permanent 2 abilities, equip N to attach and equip N to detach. You can actually detach equipment from creatures for it's equip cost, and it still counts.- -Remember, reminder text is just that, a reminder on how to use the card. It isn't the actual rule definition.- Nope, that's Reconfigure, not equip.

threre's no such rules for "detaching" equipment, see Comptehensive Rules 702.6a: "Equip is an activated ability of Equipment cards. “Equip [cost]” means “[Cost]: Attach this permanent to target creature you control. Activate only as a sorcery." you can in fact equip creature with its own equipment as many times as you want, but no detach is in the rules, all relevant definition is the one above

​@@AndrueWolf Oh boy, I was absolutely wrong. I confused equip with reconfigure. Reconfigure N gives you attach for N and unattach for N. That's my bad. And you're 100% correct about the attaching equipment to the creature it's already attached to. I should have stuckw ith that as the method for going infinite with only 1 creature.
