You'll need hundreds of dollars of tools to get this build quality
@oneplus_one1
@oneplus_one1 4 жыл бұрын
First of all, you’ll need to buy these premium materials from obviously premium brands. On top of that these are also some wiring in it. To choose if you want it straight or not that takes a bunch of time. Also, you’ll need the vesa mount that they have. Now you obviously can get a cheap one but not of the same quality and or not for the kind of design of table. Overall. Idk why im responding to this 3yr old comment.

@@oneplus_one1 How important quality is for a desk? Mine is made from simple chipboard and has some aluminum legs. Yet, it holds my stuff since 20 years. 700 for a wooden desk I can easily build it in my garage on a weekend? No, thank you. :)

***** Yes, but not everyone has the tools to make a desk like this and even so not everyone wants to make everything they need. Some people just would rather spend money on the desk then build it. But I guess you could apply that to computer building. But the difference is you don't need tools to build a computer and its very simple to build a computer.

Simply adding a means to prop up the slanted desk portion and you have a standing desk (although not necessarily a good height for most people, a track/drawer slide on the slanted supports could solve that). What about an actual foot or leg rest? A thin cross member isn't ideal. These are the type of features I'd expect for that price point. Yes, I understand it's beautifully hand crafted oak but it's a very simple design.

This is literally four wooden legs and two planks of wood stuck at and angle. IT IS WAY TO EXPENSIVE. I could make this with a saw and some would for less than an eighth of the cost. And you can't even put anything else on the desk because you don't have enough hands to hold it up. Having everything above you is dangerous considering it could easily all fall down with one bump. Plus laying in a computer chair will defiantly do more damage to your back than sitting or standing. Also the company is trying to manipulate you. It's actually a common marketing tactic. You see the huge, over the top, EXPENSIVE desk that makes you not want to buy it but, then you see the 700 "cheap" option (that isn't cheap at all for a couple of wooden planks) that makes you want to buy their product because it is "cheap". Their goal is not to sell the bigger desk. They probably don't have many made right now. Don't fall for their shit. Make your own desk.

I can certainly build the same thing for around USD $100 in materials bought up at The Home Depot and putting in a few hours of labor. I have the tools and if I need some cuts to be done, The Home Depot can do 2 free cuts and for every subsequent cut after that, is around 50 cents.

I'd actually buy this for sure, but only *if it was way cheaper*, and had more features like a place to put a mousepad (regarding that wrist rest on the desk) so you don't have to move it around on the wood. I can't really think of anything else but more optional monitor mounts and a place to rest your mousepad and maybe drinks and stuff would be pretty cool honestly.

I have thought about something like this but was thinking of some way to put it over a bed. This is probably better, to not mix the bed with work/sleep, and could be DIY more easily from the looks of it.

the design of this desk is so simple you can make your self for 1/4 of the price. that if you already have tools.

no way I could use this as a productive desk. I'd be asleep 5 minutes into sitting there.

there is one bad part after a long time of using that if you dont have an active life style it will lead to your stabilizer muscles to atrophy but other then that i think its a good start to an amazing product

interesting, I've heard of ergonomic keyboard, mice, etc. but this is one of the most odd ergonomic things I've seen yet. Great video!

I feel the downfall of this would be those who use laptops as their main computer, since even the home version seems to be aimed at those that use desktops/towers. I don't think two strips of wide Velcro would hold, say, an 8+ lb Alienware gaming laptop... I think you'd be even pushing the Velcro's limits with a Chromebook, which is CONSIDERABLY lighter than an Alienware.

I wish I could get this. It's so convienent. It would help so much with my editing, Gaming, and getting my channel bigger. But I'm too poor, with my parents still having problems. I would maybe buy it for 350 but I can't cause no one sells it for that much

I think the strain on my arms would steer me away from this slanted desk. I also think for $2900 ill go to my workshop and build my own version for pennies on the dollar.
