Let me put out a rant on this and I’m open to anyone’s opinion. When CODMW came out they added crossplay but it’s not full crossplay. The only time you’d get crossplay often is if you play GW. Regular quick play rarely does this and would only take effect if your regular matchmaking has no choice but to mix you in. It will always try to prioritize a controller to controller or km to km matchmaking. With that said here are my thoughts. First, PC is always ahead when it comes to technology in that they can play at greater refresh and FPS rates than console, have an FOV setting, those alone will put pc at a great advantage then add in km and console already lost. It doesn’t matter if console has aim assist, aim response, and can use km, those two settings is putting pc on a different level. Secondly, pc gets more advantages when they use controllers which will give them the aim assist and response setting. The problem is this, how come pc can use controllers and it’s fine but if console do it there’s an uproar? That’s kinda unfair.

Okay so the main point I will put across is that not all games on PS4 supports mnk. Therefore people go and buy the xim. The xim mimics your controller tricking your system into thinking your using a controller. Being someone who plays console and pc it’s so much easier controlling recoil and aiming with a mouse. I’ve been diamond on console as well. But that’s why there is a uproar when people use it in games that it’s not supported in. You can’t just plug a mnk into your system and play r6 with it. There’s a big advantage with mnk.

I have tested xim4 on bf4 ps4 and bf4 pc, the difference to me was night and day. What I had experienced was that in high sensitivity the xim doesn't register your movements accurately. For eg if you move your mouse slowly, the cross hair moves really fast but if you move it swiftly, the cross hair moves slower than you would expect. It's due to the movement limitations set in game by the developers which causes this issue and trust me. Also, the aiming feels edgy if you do not set smoothing (which has its own drawbacks). After a couple of years of gaming, your muscle memory will be confused af!

I’ve stopped playing FPS games for stuff like this. Confronting with players using such devices becomes frustrating and builds up as you play session after session. Winning by cheating is the lowest NO REWARDING thing one can do. It is pointless. Being a FPS GOD by doing nothing out of your ability is loosing not winning. Aim bots and lag switch were big a few years ago, now this stuff...personally I hate all cheaters, even those who glitch the game to collect money or objects spamming the glitch. Actually 80% of the top 2,000 players on BO4 do. They even admit to it. I was in the top 2k last year and all the parties we played used xims with aim assist enabled. They don't play MW though, aim assist isn't as exploitable on the xim because there is some recoil vs BO4

I used Eagle Eye adapter for ps3, and XIM is not really needed for current gen consoles. The consoles themselves have keyboard/mouse enabled, but the companies left it up to the developers of the games to decide if they wanted to implement that choice. You can call this cheating if you want, but it's not like the player is using a client to lock onto enemies or see them through walls. It's just an adapter for those who feel more comfortable with a mouse than an analog stick.

The Dualsense controller cannot work with the Xim, so the workaround is with third-party PS controllers. On Xbox, first-party controllers work, but not third-party. I was told from Microsoft support (for those on Xbox) to make a Feedback Hub post to request a controller update that cuts off communication from controller to Xim, thus rendering it useless on Xbox.

So I bought the Xim Apex (pronounced zim apex btw) to play a few FPS and TPS games. I've had it for about a year and I have a lot on pros, cons, and in some case gaming sacrilege. XIM APEX review: PROS: -you can use km and controllers from some other consoles. -has a phone app to adjust setting easily for km and button layouts. -can set up multiple profiles for multiple games. -some analog stick "wands" or controllers like the PS3 move movement stick can be used. CONS: -one is limited to using km due to controller button layout. Roughly, there are 16 buttons on today's controllers plus analog movement. One trying to find a layout for km is a little more difficult than one would think. -from input from other users, having more than one Xim Apex in a household can interfer with phone app when setting up layouts. -in order to use km, one would definitely consider getting a decent gaming keyboard and mouse which equals out to spending more cash. -when using km, WASD is limited movement and with a mouse one can't execute those "sweet" 360 no-scope headshots. SIDE NOTES: -just because one is playing with km doesn't mean they have god mode, unlimited ammo, invulnerability, or any other of the "cheating" BS. I've got my ass handed to me by controller users while using controller and vice versa. -there are WAY MORE ADVANCED things in the system I am unfamiliar with, which has been claimed to help in FPS and TPS but it doesn't work properly and is unreliable. In the end, there are always, ALWAYS, gonna be cheaters. And there are some folks who just want to play a game with km because controllers suck or vice versa. So just play the game you like playing. So what if someone is using third party thing. Kick their ass or at least get your licks in. You're welcome btw.

I have a PC already that can somewhat play skyrim and The Witcher, but can barely play apex legends on the lowest settings. Completely agree, again all this is completely subjective but honestly the one thing controllers have is aim assist (yeah I know mnk can still benefit) but with the mnk adapter recoil is a lot easier to control with analog sticks compared to a mouse. Also too using the mouse and keyboard XIM adapter is purely subjective person to person. There is latency issues and acceleration sure you can have speed and flicking ability with a mouse. But honestly personally using it you have recoil and it’s harder to control than using an analog stick you have to keep pulling your mouse down to combat recoil. So there is trade offs to using it. People should just get better at the game. Outsmart their opponent any way they can. Play dirty if they are. Also lastly if you have a job buy one then. It’s getting harder to tell if someone is using it based on scuff and elite controllers and micro adjustment tips and accessories to give you that “mouse like accuracy” reporting is pointless they need countless reports and even so the adapter has stealth coding to trick your console into thinking you’re using a controller gives off the same input code.

One of my old friends used a xim for siege because at a high level on console in that game literally nearly everyone uses it. The higher up the ranking system you go, the more MnK you see. Well I was thinking something about performance. I don’t know how HDR works, but I like the Picture quality when I stream. Though from time to time, when I am playing say the witcher. Everything will start off fine, then in some dialogue scene, something around the NPC eyes, face, or neck, will become distorted or slightly corrupted, with a kind of rainbowish effect. I don’t know what it could be, some streams everything is completely fine, others it happens for a lil bit, then goes away.

You fail to list the disadvantages of using a XIM. One of them is that when you run into a player head on, the player using a controller can spin around and shoot much more quickly. It sounds like you have a problem with the Cronsumax which I know nothing about. The xim was designed to allow keyboard and mouse players to use console. There are no "cheating" options in it. It comes down to which one you feel more comfortable using.

People are really late to the Cronusmax party. I've had one since Bo3. Ironically, I bought it to use my Xbox one scuf on the PS4, not to use mods or use keyboard. But then I learned about mods. The aim assist "mod" is okay for when you're not moving, ADS'D, and an enemy runs across the crosshairs, it'll pull your gun towards them. With the mod off and no right stick input, no LS movement, the gun won't pull to moving targets. It just manipulates the in game mechanics already in place. But anti-recoil is absolutely a game changer. When they broke the vesper on Bo3, you could basically unbreak it lol Nowadays, I just use a custom hair trigger script for my default 360/xb1 controllers and an auto sprint script for bo2 so I don't have to continoulsy click the analog.

I only play 360 cods at the moment and not every cod has marathon and sometimes there are better perks to use. I use it so I don't have to continoulsy click the analog. With my custom script if you push the LS to 100% forward, it clicks L3 every 10ms so as soon as my character can sprint again, he does. It's a quality of life mod tbh.

@@SimFootballFanatic There is a shit ton of things you can do with a CM. If you played BO3 and set your character to run automatically, you can also remap the buttons so L3 becomes jump and R3 becomes slide. You basicly have the movement potential of a Scuf controller. In a more grey zone you can also create a knee in your sensitivity curve, or make double jumping press and hold etc. Everybody bitches about these modpacks but in reality the remapping functions are probably the least understood.

As a pc gamer I still play on console a lot with friends and it’s honestly easy to tell someone using M&K especially with tools like PUBG report where you can literally hear streamers using mechanical keyboards xD but it’s always funny when someone buys a XIM expecting to be god tier instantly and I still own them with a controller like what did you think you would plug it in and instantly have years of K&M experience?

I've been using the XIM4 on Destiny 1&2 since PS3 and I love it. I also like it for games like GTAV where you can use M&K when running missions and simply pick up the controller when you get in a car or plane. It's so nice have the stability of M&K when shooting but the fluid motion of a controller when driving or flying. That being said I pretty much never play Crucible in Destiny 2 unless I have to (exotic weapon quests for example). It does feel like PC but the aim assist is actually really annoying to be honest. If there's a way to turn it off I would like that much more. I hate it when I'm trying to shoot past adds to hit the boss and aim assist makes me target the wrong enemy. Overall I think it's okay to use XIM if you aren't in a competitive setting. I also have the original Cronus because I like using the XBox One controller on the PS4. I like the weight and the left stick being primary rather than the D-pad. I also like using a controller on PC for something like Sekiro. It just feels like I'm playing Tenchu on PS2 again. I had no idea you could actually use them both at the same time. I also didn't know you could use them on PC cause M&K with a controller for vehicles just works as is. It's interesting that people would chain these together just to bypass being good at the game. I can understand not wanting to use a controller for a shooter and not wanting to drive or fly with M&K...but using them to get an edge in competitive situations...that kind of defeats the whole point of playing a game doesn't it?

I just want to clear the confusion with using Cronus max. This is for disabled players with disadvantages compared to fully capable players. The cronus max is a button mapping device which has been exploited into rapid fire, quick reload, stability exc. If you purchase a cronus max and read the intro the owners will elaborate the use of this. Thanks

@@theterminatorthereality9856 Sony releasing the paddle in feb. Should allow you to map buttons to it so wont need to take thumbs of analog and allow for more control, quicker reaction. EDIT: You are also able to use thumb extenders on the analogs, i use kontrol freaks and feel like i have more control. I havent seen any decent trigger extenders for ps4 controller. Used to use them for ps3 and they worked well for fps games. L2 always aim for me and r2 always fire. Although apparently flipping the back buttons for the front can help with response. Not tried myself so cant verify and depends on the specific game options.

Sorry bro. I used XIM for awhile. It’s definitely cheating. It’s much easier to be precise when playing against controller players. I was able to dome kids with a sniper in destiny 2 no problem. Then aim assist on top of XIM is cake. Gonna fact check you: you can build gaming PC’a for sub $500. I put $2000 into mine. However addressing your injury, I can understand the want to switch to MnK. With all the money you put into your PS4 - games, memberships, and the ps4 itself. You could easily afford a PC. So in short from some one who used the xim. It’s cheating.

You're not going to get a quality gaming rig for that cheap and you know it. Buying a PS4 was a one time expense 7 years ago. I'd buy just as many games for a PC over that same time period, so that expense would be the same, so that don't count. In 7 years of having a PC, how often would I have to upgrade the graphics card, RAM and the CPU to keep up with the increasing demands of newer games? You going to keep that $2,000 PC 7 years and never upgrade it? I highly doubt it. Money pit! Not only do you keep buying the games you want, but you have to keep upgrading components in the PC to play them. That's double expense. On console, I bought it one time and my only expense after that is the games I want. As far as the XIM, I'll disagree. You seem to forget that you can adjust the sensitivity of the joysticks in virtually every FPS game these days to be just as sensitive and precise as any mouse. How well you aim is all muscle memory when moving a joystick on a controller to look around and aim. Just like it's muscle memory to move a mouse around. Me adjusting the sensitivity on the XIM for my mouse is no different that you adjusting the sensitivity in the games settings for your controller. If you're getting your butt beat by a XIM user, then maybe you need to adjust your controller sensitivity better. You probably got it set too slow. I know you can turn all the way around 360 by just barely moving the joystick if you have the sensitivity up high enough. So you have the same capability of movement. And what about buying bigger joysticks for your controller? You know, popping the factory ones off and putting bigger ones on to give you better control? Isn't that cheating? Sure you're still using the controller, but you've modified it to give yourself an advantage to help you play better. How is that any different? Why is that not cheating? Because anyone can buy those bigger joysticks? Well anyone can buy a XIM also. Like I said, the one part I will agree is cheating is using macros that let you do things that controller button assignments won't. But if you're just using it as a way to play, just an input devise, I don't see how they are that different.

I play GT Sport, its a mixed lobby of Dual Shock and wheel users. Wheel users have an advantage here. I use the Cronusmax to use my retro driving controller, I use a ps3 limited edition Ferrari Thrustmaster hand held controller (rare). I thought it was the slightly larger grip that was helping me gain better lap times then my dual shock, perhaps it wasn't and there's more to it.

There is a ligament reason for having to use keyboard and mouse on a consol. I have severe nerve damage in my right hand, and no dexterity at all with my thumb and pointer finger. This would allow me to finally be able to play FPS on consoles. ( lol picture trying 3 times to move the right direction in Civilization with a controller.)

I strongly disagree. People who are mainly controller users, they do have pretty good reflexes. They are way more comfortable with it. So, even though some people are using third party devices to use mouse and keyboard, that doesn't mean it's bad. Because the input of those devices are not even close to pc like experience. It doesn't have mouse acceleration which means you can't just rotate X,Y,Z axis simultaneously. You need to stay inside imaginary deadzone which indicates controller's right analog stick. So, it's going to slow and it's same as the controller's input. Don't just say like it should be banned or anything like that. There are people who just wants to enjoy the game using the devices they're comfortable with. If these adapters could support acceleration then you could've said that it's cheating. So, for now as long as it follows the analog stick input, it should be okay.
