The idea is, we don't have to buy and upgrade our phones and tablets, we can buy/upgrade just our phones. It's not a tablet in the usual sense (like an iPad) as the cable and magnet set up doesn't really cater to laying in bed with it or using it on the go. It's a nice companion as a small second display for other devices, but it's a bit of a weird form factor even for that. Despite all that there's something really charming about this and I want it, even though I know I'd probably barely use it. It's just a bit too small, but a bit too clunky too.
