I mean yeah you get your items faster but as you can see illaoi doesnt really get huge value out of 6 items, I would say it's a pretty meme rune unless you are up against a comp that you think is really going to end the game quickly, then you're better off rushing items with first strike rather than stacking 10 grasps and the game is over.

Really liked this one, his camera control was a bit weird throughout the game, I was so glad to hear at the end that he's aware of this weakness of his and will work on fixing it. Not using smartcast really slows his engages and plays down as well, if he fixes these and a few other macro-related issues he should be able to get to Master, seems patient enough and willing to learn.

Camera control is some basic stuff though. Not having that fixed after 12 years seems to be some motoric limitation. It will be tough to get it straight after so many years.

If you just fully fixate yourself on it for a period of time (2 weeks / a month) it should be easily fixable by just trying to get as much relevant information on your screen at once and then looking at your POV replays at the end of each session and try to be really hyper-critical on how it's placed. Camera control is mostly habitual so after doing that for a couple of weeks you should be way better than you were before, even when you begin to focus on the rest of the game again.

i dont know about camera but to me his mechanics are terrible, like he just stands still trying to "wiggle" while eating so much dmg and doing nothing to fight back and even when he fights there is so much down time where he doesnt Q or AA is just hurting me

Conquerors and goredrinker are best options for illaoi - conquerors gives you dmg for all your moves, not just w and autos + healing from tentacles and autos. Gore just adds to the healing from tentacles and autos with its omnivamp. By comparison, running grasp and trinity or sunderer means you're only getting healing from w and autos - missing out on the free healing from tentacles

I have a bad habit unless I play kled before level 3. After that I use mouse. I play the game slow and I know that. I played dozens of games trying to break it. But when I try to react quickly I smash 123 buttons or hit the wrong skill ability. I just fat finger all the time so its better for me to keep the rat poison away from the flour.

You want him to play aggressively, but you don't know how Illaoi should be played in High Elo. DirtyMobs gets Challenger every year by playing safe until level 3. He regularly beats TF Blade and other huge names like Revenge, Adrian Riven, and GeneralSniper by playing passively and according to Illaoi's power spikes. "Use grasp, bro!" and then he gets chunked huge by the Fiora that chases him back to tower

Great coaching. I would have done a few things differently. Double down the splitpush and just 1v5. exec should have been purchased soon with items as DS and frozen heart then other items. Fighting objectives when team is behind I found is coinflipping unless illaoi is nested. From experience. Overall great coaching and exactly what I would have done. most of the game. Made me wish I can play more then 0-2 games a week.

I think he could have won with a tankier build. Tri Force just makes Illaoi too squishy to really be effective in late game fights. Goredrinker, Death's Dance, Maw is the way to go. Tons of vamp and sustain, and even more after the Maw shield procs.

Seems to me like he picked this champ recently and isn't used to her kit yet. This would explain why he can't hold E, why he's not going for little opportunities to land some damage, why he panics when fight breaks out. Typical playstyle of a goofer who picked new champ, got bit lucky, got fed, and now doesn't know how to utilize the advantage. 22:07 gets surprised, doesnt realise he's against ekko and kindred, "panic-E's" and misses a target who's on his face. It would be much harder for them to dodge that E when they are on your face. I seriously doubt kindred would react on time if he aimed at closer target. Also, he could actually just walk it out, let them fall into his lap, not just stand and try to kill them. He doesn't feel the limits, the flow of his champ. 16:28 this is the moment that changed the flow of the game. That missed E decides that fight is lost, hands down 650g to ekko and a lvl up, later that guy would get hold of the game. That's a turning point I believe. This is the most decisive E of this game, the one missed spell that lost it for the whole team.

@@TheRevivist same. My go to vs illaoi is yorick or wukong. Play wukong right you can W her E and it can vanish before her R lands and also cancel her W with your R. Yorick its either I kill her or we don't fight. Early game even when illaoi e ult ill just walk away and sit back as she beats my clone knowing she can't kill it with 1-2 tents and then just kill her after. If she plays bad I won game.

The Fiora was also pretty bad, she didn't dodge anything early game, wasn't pushing Illaoi in any way even when she had a slight advantage.. I'm a little lower, Plat 1, but I never face a Fiora that just facetanks all abilities like that. Also I was surprised by the dmg Illaoi was outputting without hitting E with her Q and W only being lvl 1 up until level 9. Felt like her lvl 1 Q at lvl 9 did more damage than maxed out Morde Q at lvl 9 (not isolated obviously).
