I did notice a big difference between the two graphics settings. However, the first bit of the video made me dizzy because of the high amount of motion blur and frame drops. Much prefer bit worse quality without a headache.

I noticed the same motion blur when watching in 1080p on my 1440p monitor. Switched to 1440p and it was pretty much all gone, so in my case it was likely just KZbin downscaling messing stuff up.

1080p for youtube is just fine, I appreciate the attempt to bring higher resolution and increase production value. But youtube compresses the videos so much that its not worth the effort. You are correct that it is the graphic card that will get you the FPS and smoothness you are looking for, only problem is graphic cards are like unicorns right now. You will be lucky to get to get the one you would need to run full resolution at 60fps. I think your best option is max graphics at a lower resolution since this is more of an eye candy game. Also, with more and more people watching on mobile devices, higher resolutions are going more and more a niche thing. Love youre content and personality. Keep up the great work.

So daggerwin, when recording your cpu comes under load as it encodes the video file. The cpu is required to run the game and the video encoding. Though the video card is also going to be under more load when you increase the resolution of the game as it has to render more physical pixels. What specs do you have? The gameplay seems fine before and after to me, watching on an ipad pro.

I prefer watching in 1440p60 when possible since that is my main monitor resolution. I think your CPU is more than capable of handling the load of recording at higher resolution however you may want to look at upgrading that 3060 to a 3070ti or higher. The drop in frames is all due to the 3060 in my opinion - the 3060ti should be the minimum entry point to go to 30 series since the regular 3060 is about or less powerful than a 2070. I currently run FS22 on a rig with a 10850k and a 3080ti and even I get frame drops in the area where I store all my cow bales after I've been playing for a few hours - this is with every graphical setting maxed out. As your farms expand and you have more equipment and items lying around, you'll need the extra GPU power.

I don't know how much in advance this video is but the best way to get rid of the "janky" trees is to put down a carpentry near where you are harvesting them and deliver the trees directly to it. You will easily make back the money from turning the logs straight into furniture.

Daggerwin, the graphics speeds fall down to your power management settings... sometimes just as your overclocks too, being unstable.... unless you're just rolling with it stock out of box, then it should be running just fine as is, granted if you have your power management settings adjusted for games (I actually turn everything up to maximum), otherwise I'd have to say it's due to how many trees in one area causing rendering collisions (render collisions drop out frames) (edit) once I've seen what happened to the trees, that kinda says something about the textures/rendering

Check what GPU memory you have. If you are running at 4k but have less than 8GB of memory you MAY be running out and THAT will cause lag. Otherwise you are looking at the times required to load all of those verticies that it textures, so it is distance rendered you should look at so that there are fewer blobs to render. If that reduction stuffs up your look then you need fewer trees in one place, because each tree has a LOT of verticies to it, especially if it isn't a harvesting tree such as pine or spruce.

Regarding your game performance, it depends what your system specs are and whether or not you are running the game on an SSD instead of HDD. In many cases with slightly old PC setup, changing the game installation from HDD to SSD improves its performance drastically without the need to upgrade GPU, CPU or RAM. FS22 doesn't really have very high system requirements, so unless your PC is very old, you shouldn't have any problems running it on high and above settings
@ParisMitchellVariety

IMO - You'll need to upgrade your CPU and GPU if you want to record at higher FPS and higher resolution. There are definitely times where it doesn't seem as crisp because of the recording bitrate being too low. Highly detail-dense moments or when the camera moves too quickly cause everything to pixelate for a little bit. The lowered game settings definitely helped and aren't noticeable over youtube with their compression, so it still looks good on that front.

The higher res looks great I would like to know exactly which resolution you was running i.e 2560X1440 or 3840X2160. As to what you may want to do in terms of an upgrade it depends on what your current hardware is and and what resolution you want to run the game at. If you have a 6-8 core CPU you should be fine with just a GPU upgrade but if you do need a CPU upgrade I would suggest almost anything that has 8-10 cores as for GPU anything from the last 4 years would probably be fine if it has at least 8GB of GDDR 5 Memory. Final not playing at a higher res alone would be fine, but you are recording as well and that can hinder overall performance.

Didn’t notice the frame stutter in the video much even if you did whilst playing. After the tweaks you made at 6:00 or so it was a bit smoother, but looked softer and a bit less detailed, the aforementioned fuzziness was back, and the reduced draw distance very noticeable. Kinda depends on which setting you are using for recording.. I guess you are using obs.. theres an option too choose from, either Videocard intensive or CPU intensive.. so either way you'll need a decent CPU for the one, or a decent GPU for the other.. My guestimate would be an Intel i7 CPU 8 core,16 threads (or an amd equivalent), or a GPU with at least 8 GB of GDDR5 (beter with GDDR 6, newer cards). hope this helps! love your content!

I think 1080p at 60fps is best option. High FPS is pretty much always best option. What graphics card are you using?

For the wood chipper. To tip it into a trailer I used a conveyer belt. When you go next to the conveyer with the wood chipper it will notify you that you can tip it. As long as the trailer is on the other side it will tip it into the trailer.

Daggerwin, I don't know much about youtube compression, but this video seems to jump about. I don't mean jump-cuts, I mean the tiny timelapses in your editing. I think I see framedrops too, but it might be my connection. Anyway, keep up the good work :D

What graphic card do you have? I have a 2080 TI and it works great in 4k, some of the issues I have heard are due to optimization on Giants side and not so much the graphic cards.

First part of the video looked really crisp and lag wasn't that noticeable. Only when you just got into the field and dust started coming from the back of the combine. Second part of the video looked good too, but there was some strange ghosting around combine for example. Basically, HUD elements looked good, but when things were moving on the screen they looked a bit weird. I have watched it in 1080p on my 1440p monitor because my internet connection doesn't really allow me to stream 1440p videos without buffering. Tried watching in 1440p and ghosting that I saw in 1080p is a lot less noticeable, but still my internet is not good enough for that. Looked good on my phone over 4G+ though. Basically what I am saying, I usually watch your videos in 1080p60 and previous videos, as well as first part of this video, looked clearer than the second part of this video.

Long term investment would be having a separate computer with an Elgato capture card. If you offload the recording/streaming aspect to another computer then you should have no issues other then to simply run the game on your main machine.

Would love to see a PC spec video to see what you are running. But yeah the higher resolution is putting more strain on the gpu. Only problem is right now the gpu market is so expensive. You would be lucky to upgrade at msrp

I can tell the difference the edges are much crisper and smoother on the graphics card side I’m not an expert on them but I know are fair bit it all depends on what you currently have I would recommend either a 3070 or a 3080
@Caristria
@Caristria 2 жыл бұрын
I don't think a 30series card would be nessesary. I have a first gen 3070 and it is only ~50% usage @1440p and I have a lot more stuff on my farm. I would like to think that the cpu could be very well be the bottleneck. On the other hand I don't know how much of a affect the recording has on his system. Its difficult to tell without knowing what he currently has running in his system. @Gaggerwin Would you like to share your setup with us so we get the whole picture? Or can you start Task-Manager and look how the usage of the GPU and CPU is. For CPU you have to change the graph to logical processors (rightclick on it) and look if some (2-8 deppending on you cpu) of the cores are in the 90-100% range. If so than its most likely the cpu. If the GPU is hitting 90-100% that would indicate that the problem is there and if both are not than it could even be RAM (altough unlikely). There could also be other factors be at play but that would be even harder to find out.

If you would like to run fs 22 at 4k 60fps I would recommend a 3070ti or a 3080 but would also depend was cpu you have as if its a fairly old one you might need to upgrade that as well so you don't get any bottleneck issues

Heya Daggerwin! The new resolution gives you a much more crisp looking video but a bit of a preformance hit. Do you use video capture software wich uses GPU power or do you have capture card(like elgato game capture) that records for you without any preformance loss? If you use software i can recommende elgato game capture card HD60/4k(needs pcie 4x slot), it will help with the preformance loss cause it records for you without gpu & cpu power. It seems you are running like a 1080/ti or a higher 20 series card wich doesnt need changing really of you dont play any really graphicly intensive games. LOVE the series! New to the channel, found it through the mower repairs wich is awesome to! It was you my good sir that got me hooked on FS22. Thanks for all the awesome content! Cheers from sweden

The frame issues could be to do with a mix of issues. without knowing the specs of you computer it is hard to know but if u go bigger on graphics there is a high chance that the CPU might need upgrading and with that potentially motherboard. I think I remember you mentions a 20 series nvidia card and if u are able to find a 30 series then as mention the other parts of your computer will most likely need upgrading. Hope this helps Daggerwin.

You're running an RTX3060 GPU!!! That's an amazing card! I've got a 1660 Super and encode using Davinci Resolve for my channel - I think it's the rendering from OBS and then the subsequent re-encoding that causes any issues... Not to mention that KZbin then auto limits the bitrate based on the resolution when you upload anyway... In short you can, in theory, upload a 40gb 8k quality stream, but then KZbin will 'down-convert' it to their max for that resolution anyway.. The big issue I face is keeping the timelapses clear enough and not going pixelated through all the editing..

Turn off Foilage Shadows to get a boost in FPS. Also why don't you add wood directly into the Carpentry Factory, that way you nearly double the production while also utilizing the wood more efficiently by having it used in two factories.

So if you want to record in 4k your CPU and other components don't matter as much, especially as you have an i9 11900 and 32gb of ram, so your graphics card is the component that needs upgrading and id say to upgrade to a to an RTX 3070 or an RTX 3070 Ti if you don't want to spend a lot of money on it (They are still very expensive though) but if you are willing to spend more go for a RTX 3080, RTX 3080 Ti or even a RTX 3090!
