Pools shouldn't get to decide what coin is "profitable" to be paid out in. People have different utilities for each coin mined, so they should be paid out in said wallets. Just asking for a lot of issues, which are clear here.

how does that make sense? they already paid the miners out at whatever the rate was when it was mined. if they chose to hold onto those coins thats their win. would you pay them back if that coin went to 0 and they lost it all?

Same thing happen to dogecoin with its epic rise. Thank god they didn’t do this to doge back in the day! I brought this up to Vipor pool with Verus. They see no reason to add in the merge coins. But it’s not for them to decide. So unfortunately I had to move to another pool that pays all the Verus side chains. More will come in future. You never know if it will pump! What I don’t like is how much xegggex is now holding. That is what will kill the vibe. Seems only folks selling. So they will corner the market and can set any price. Hmmm sure doesn’t look fishy one bit. lol. 😂

To play devils advocate, is it possible that they were paying these additional pepecoin “profits” out in doge and just internally deciding to hold pepecoin? If at the time there were paying out equal value in dogecoin of what the pepecoin was worth at the time, then that wouldn’t be an issue. Yes it price appreciated over time and so now it looks bad, but if it was equally paid out on a daily basis and then internally decided to hold the pepecoin, they could do that. Also keep in mind that it only looks like a lot now. Most likely when the “additional” doge was being paid out for this merge mined pepecoin, it was pennys on the dollar compared to its value now. Regardless it doesn’t look good, or maybe just needs a clear statement to show transparency from them on what they were doing to pay this extra profitability to miners. Great vid RPM!

@usiffputz6753 at the time the bulk of those coins were mined, probably 85-90% of them, the price of pepecoin was close to nothing. Now it looks bad because it’s like 4.5million usd. But a couple months ago it was a tiny fraction of that. So with that in mind all I’m saying is it’s possible those rewards were paid out in doge, and they just decided to hold the pepecoin. It would have been so small that it would have been insignificant. If they paid out those extra pepecoin rewards in doge, there is an argument that would say they now own those coins, by basically paying for them in extra doge to miners. Not saying that’s what happened, I’m saying if that’s what did happen, it could be an outcome that makes sense.

From what I have learned, running a mining pool is not very profitable for the pool owners. More often than not they have to hold a bag of coins till the next bull run and take profit then. Maybe they're buying new servers to lower their latency and open up more pools? It is unlikely they will pay it out in Pep, but maybe the LTC/DOGE pays out higher.

Cost of doing business. if you run a PPS pool, you are paying out regardless of whether a block is found or not. They take on a whole lot of risk running that pool. If people aren’t fine with that move somewhere else or spin up your own pool.

What happens to the pice of pepecoin if no one buys it anymore? No one will buy or sell pepecoin will that just put pepecoin on zero just like any other meme coin does? Just curious about this pepecoin in comparison to alot of other pepecoins that are already in the market.

The price is quite stable since a few weeks, when you compare it to other meme coins or even BTC that dropped a lot. Especially after a huge pump like this one. It looks healthy and could pump again in the next days/weeks. Also there is a halving in early february that could help to rise the price.

I don't fault them for not passing it along to the miners. At the time merge mining was started pepe was worth basically nothing. The clearly state that that merge mined coins don't go to the miners. Miners excepted those terms. Pools are a business and have high costs for the servers etc. They did not "Robbed" the miners. I have no issue with them selling in chunks.
