heyooo I'm the doom in the video! and thank you so much emongg for the advice! and yah you are entirely right, I really have an issue with focusing tanks way too much. Partly because I just always worry the enemy tank will wipe my whole team, but thanks to you I will surely stomp that habit out. Hopefully ill be back here again in a "where are they now", nonetheless Thank you again emongg!! (And not to make excuses but I was really burnt out from climbing all night lol, so my aim wasn't great! also I fixed my spelling)

The good news is that annoying counterpicks like Hog Zarya Mauga aren't that good at making their own plays unless your team feeds into them. Its probably ok to leave them alone for 5 seconds to set up an attack on their backline.

Hey my Doom in my stack plays the same way lol. I'm his support. He tends to play characters that can more or less get picks and can survive... ish. Doom, Genji, etc. I tell him all the time he needs more patience and trust his team more. We want to heal you and make sure you can make big plays. Just stay closer to your team sometimes and be aware that we promise we want to heal your jumpy ass lol. That's my only advice but I'm not great, so you can ignore me honestly. Good luck ❤

Yeah I just was having numerous games where I had lost because my team did as you said and they fed into the opposing tanks so I overreacted to the jog quite a bit

I gotta agree with emong in most of this. It's going to be too hard to hit a mercy most of the time, but you definitely could've stopped rez a few times. You also didn't seem to fear the roadhog somb combo like you should. I'd argue that focusing on the lucio for an extended period of time after being unable to kill him is another mistake that never really became a huge issue, because beating up the hog was more of the issue, lol.

i think the problem with a lot of learning divers is they dive EVERYONE to hit as many people as possible, stay in for way too long, dive full hp tanks, and go in without full HP, instead of going for isolating/isolated targets they can pressure or kill and coming back with much more defensive capability also even when the doom isnt killing anybody, hes keeping hogs entire team busy so hog has to either wait or try to 1v5

This for sure. I think a lot of dive tanks have the mistaken idea that they have to get a kill before they leave, but actually you need to set yourself or your DPS up first. You have to survive so that you can go back in for the kill. If you punch face first into five people, they will kill you before you hit anything.

Just to comment on the twitch chat at like 20:15 (TL;DR Lifeweaver ult can't be hacked, but EMP does its usual current-HP-%-based damage to it, therefore EMP doesn't remove 50% of its max health--only 25% of its current HP). For fun lore reasons as well as developer intent, EMP doesn't fully affect Tree of Life because Symmetra uses Hard Light, but Lifeweaver uses Bio Light, which is a more resilient spin-off of the same technology. On Lifeweaver's release, EMP didn't affect Tree at all and it felt oddly inconsistent--since "it affects all deployables" and "destroys all barriers" (except it doesn't, Ice Wall says hi!), so they decided to compromise. On the developer side, I believe they wanted to make it clear that Lifeweaver's ultimate is a "terrain-like object", so not a shield but something that is also like Ice Wall. They utimatey decided to make Tree unhackable, but damage-able by EMP. Therefore Tree of Life will take 25% of whatever its current HP is in damage upon receiving an EMP. Also, to throw some inconsistency into the mix...despite being treated like map terrain for almost every other interaction, Tree of Life will not block EMP's line of sight requirement.

8:59 you have the same play, burn both abilities to run in and go 3v4when you see your teammates are dead, both healers btw, and don’t have cooldowns in the middle of the team. You have block but as soon as you block, hog hooks you and your dead. You definitely need to regroup with your team because thats 3 fights up til now have been, die, run back to cart, burn abilities, get rolled. Gotta break that habit too.

ik this is mostly abt the doom's playstyle & maybe this is like, a combination of me watching the video at the lowest light my phone screen can go to + my insomnia but... where were the doom's moira & reaper during 2nd point (aka the longest part of this whole video)...?? bc i didnt see them helping the doom at all. only lucio was there for whatever heals they can help with... which wasnt much bc its lucio.
