To stop them from chasing after you when you try to switch, you have to knock them down and make them in a state where they have to recover. It works sometimes and other times it doesn't though.

Nothing will ever beat the Budokai Tenkaichi series. It ALSO, had mid battle fusion. And the BEST combat system I've seen in any DB game, easily. I played that shit every weekend with a group for YEARS. Good stuff. Raging Blast was absolute hot wet garbage to my group.
