I'm 6:30 in and Matt has hit the nail on the head - from my perspective. I have the TM BRNR 11.5' S and it immediately felt comfortable in my hands. I was aware of the head weight (felt heavier than my Rogue driver) and the shorter shaft just made me feel at ease. I have played 3 rounds with it and I've had a 291 and a 298yd drive - with my Garmin app providing an average of 269yds. RIP my Rogue driver !!!

For some players the shorter shaft really does not lose much but the gain in dispersion makes a huge difference as well as the shorter length feeling more comfortable too

I have a few questions: 1. How often do you change screens after Matt's fitting? 2. Have you considered creating a database of shafts where you could filter weights, balance points... and then go to the wall to find what you're looking for?
@Precision_Golf2 ай бұрын
Hi Stano. Thankfully the nets are very resilient and last around 2 years so we are all safe. The database exists in the form of the S3 system that Cool Clubs (friends of ours in Arizona) have developed but if you filter too tightly on some parameters then you can miss a lot of shafts (eg balance point variables between shafts are incredibly small when measured in inches from the tip or butt end compared to the difference in feel to swing - a 1 inch change is massive in feel terms) so whilst it might be a help the fitters knowledge is still key to the equation.

you were testing standard fairway shafts, correct? would the length be different than the stock shaft on the mini? what about the final product, would you keep the standard fairway length or go slightly longer?
@Precision_Golf2 ай бұрын
The mini driver is 43.5” as standard and the shafts tested measured 43.5” in that head (they come out longer in the mini driver than a fairway wood head due to the different head size)
@beyoncehadoneofthebest2 ай бұрын
@@Precision_Golfthanks for the response. so the difference is negligible but i just realized the adapter is a different size, so it looks like i will need to go to a fitter to try shafts.

@@beyoncehadoneofthebest sorry, yes - our system allows us to interchange between all heads but a Callaway fairway sleeve will not fit the Mini-Driver

Hi guys! I remember watching his driver fitting and the Synyster shaft was exceptional! Is there a reason you didn’t pull it for this test?
@Precision_Golf2 ай бұрын
For this club the Synyster in the heavier weight is too tip heavy

For someone that hits high on the face for a driver and down on the ball. Would this mini driver be a good option to look at?
@Precision_Golf2 ай бұрын
It certainly would - the tough bit will be getting to test them as they were such a limited run they have probably sold out everywhere now
@nathaniverson68282 ай бұрын
I would be curious to have seen a TR red that’s tipped. The black is close so seems handle stiff but maybe something a hair less linear would be interesting.
@Precision_Golf2 ай бұрын
At Matt’s load strength the Red profile, even if tipped, would feel loose in the bottom end and would spin up a bit too much as well as letting the head deflect a bit more on off centre hits. The butt section is stable enough but also kills some of the feel the likes so whilst not a million miles off there are a few parameters (due to the more extreme nature of his speed and action) that make it a little less suitable for him in particular
@nathaniverson68282 ай бұрын
@@Precision_Golf yeah different strokes my playing partner has his same speed and gets along great with that shaft ( but yes heavily tipped and with a 11.5 mini prob to handle the dynamic lady change of the shaft) but it’s definitely a weapon for him. Prob hits it 80% of his driver holes

It's so interesting how people differ with feel. I'm about 5mph slower and if I go below D4/D5 then I just don't know where the clubhead is and the ball goes everywhere. Very interesting video.

So key to match the club to you - too many fitters just go heavy when you have speed but it can have disastrous consequences!
