I got the Mizuno and the 430 10k but didn't get the Qi10 after trying all of them out. No confidence on the build quality of the Taylormade after 20 years of using nothing but that brand. What's funny is I think the Mizuno 230 Max is better than all of them. The sound and feel is certainly much better while the numbers are similar.

I was fitted today and went in looking for the 430 max. I tested the new Ping 440, Taylormade Qi 35, and Titleist GT2. Ultimately my best performing driver was Mizuno ST Max. I was impressed with the distance on mishits! Nearly every shot went straight, dispersion was beautiful! I'm excited now to test on the course. My numbers were nearly identical to Michael's.

Had a chance to hit this driver. Thought it was outstanding. I’m a 4 hdcp that swings it 88-92 MPH and benefits from a higher launching driver. This absolutely did the trick. Plus is looks, feels and sounds great. Highly recommend that people it include it in their fittings.

Did you use the stock shaft length, I currently game the STX 230 with a 45” shaft, I find it so much more accurate

@@shaunkelley55 I used the 45 3/4 stock shaft. That’s what I’m used to, and it helps give me more speed and distance. I totally agree the shorter 45 inch shaft helps to hit it in the sweet spot and increase accuracy. I’d suggest people try both lengths before buying.

Would love to see Against the previous stz 230 driver but in the 45.25 shaft or 45.50 shaft length. They got kind of a bad wrap previously for the stock shaft being to short. Hopefully can see these two head to head on level playing field. Thanks Michael you are the best for club testing videos.

Yes! Awesome driver great video. Sure let’s see this up against all the other competitors even some from maybe 2 to 3 years back let’s not just rate them against the 2024 drivers but let’s see how it stacks up against some of the other competitors from the last three years and see how the drivers for this year compare with some of the older ones. You could even test this again something like the Taylormade SIM2 Max and Callaway Epic Max from a few years back. Let’s truly see if drivers have gained any ground!

Apparently in other comparison tests against other max models I’ve seen it pee’s all over the others!!! I’ve already got mine on order I should have it here in Spain via Germany in 2 to 3 weeks! I love my 230 X but a little more forgiveness never goes a miss. Great review Michael, you should be getting the 230 Max fairway woods in March it will be interesting to see what you think of those? Mizuno are making fantastic woods now!

Nice! Would be interesting to hear how the Max works for you. I just got a good deal in December on the 230Z, which despite having "only" a 35g backweight (like the X, but just placed differently) is already so much more forgiving than my 10-y old gamer.

Just tested one today, along with most of the others. This one outperformed the others, and I like the face shape. I don't miss hit up and down, I miss hit left and right, and it was definitely forgiving.

I was fitted recently by my local Golftec fitter with the Ping G430 Max Driver (set at 10.5 degrees), Ping ALTA CB-SLATE-DRV-R, 44 inches. Ball speed 124 mph, Launch - 20.7, Backspin-2377, CHS-91 mph, Carry 214. The one thing that I noticed following the 1.5 hrs was there wasn’t any information on Angle of Attack. I reviewed your video and there’s no mention of it either. I would love to know what your thoughts are as Ping recommends having Angle of Attack as part of their data to hone in on what is the best way to fit someone. Also, I am using the Mizuno ST190 and would have loved to have compared the 230 Max with similar settings. My current driver settings are at 8.5 degrees, BS-122 mph, CHS-91, spin-2735, carry 201. Not very efficient.

Awesome video. Im down to ST Max, TSR2, and qi10 Max. Forgiving drivers that will help me keep spin low. Need regular shafts for 90mph swing speed that is not high spin.

Matt- I’m a club fitter and swing it 90 MPH. Try the Speeder shaft in the Qi 10 Max and Lin-q Red in the ST Max. Both are great for swings that need higher launch/spin.

I am stuck between the STZ 230 and ST Max. I currently hit the STZ 220 which has helped stop me hitting it left. I was wondering what is your opinion on the 2 clubs and which might suit me best. I hit a high launch with about 2400 to 2500 spin. Only other concern with the ST Max is tye shaft lenght as l am not the tallest. Love your videos. Thanks

The consistency in spin is pretty shocking. Not sure how they were able to keep the spin so low and consistent considering the back weight is 54g. Also Mizuno drivers this year just don't seem to be as hot off the face as their competition. Would love to see this H2H with the 10K!
