I’ve been seeing a lot more jhoto typhlosion and I think it’s cuz it counters hisui-typhlosion and torkoal with flash fire

the extra speed is huge too. 167 max speed vs 161 can make a huge difference in this generation, especially when you’re trying to get an Eruption off without taking damage for example, you can actually run Modest typhlosion for the extra special attack and still outspeed Max speed Gholdengo and Archaludon

i think that’s how it used to work before gen 5 but now it’s a 1/3 reduction in doubles no matter how many pokémon are on the field
