Others have said that Ginty is mainly known for the 1980 film "The Exterminator", which may or may not be suitable for a SBIG episode. It's probably a bit too serious, and honestly, a bit too good, even if not without its faults. BUT, it has a sequel, "Exterminator 2", from 1984, and it certainly fits the bill for So Bad It's Good. It's terrible, it's absolutely bonkers, lots of explosions, and unlike the first one, it's a Cannon film. ^^

Robert Ginty made his name in a TV series in the late 70s, I don't remember what it was called. He was never A list or anything, but he was a fairly well known actor in the late 70s and 80s. Sort of like a gender swapped proto-Kristen Stewart. Halfway decent actor with ZERO charisma, negative charisma, if that's possible.

I feel like they've done one of the Exterminator movies, but not sure. Robert Ginty was also in Warriors of the Lost World, with a talking motorcycle and an off-the-hook Donald Pleasance, and an old TV show called The Paper Chase, which I think was a drama about journalism (I never watched it) but I'm pretty sure was the reason he did all these bad action movies. Trying to shake that soft image.

So, this is about time I waited for White Fire to come up. So Bad it’s Good is known to French people thanks to a similar website having taken an interest in what we call ‘nanar’ - a bad movie that is soooo bad it becomes good. The website, Nanarland, is kinda our Bible here. White Fire is THE goldstandard of nanar. It is the website’s favorite nanar of all time. It grew so popular that our dear director Jean-Marie Pallardy got a bit of a career return. The movie is now a regular of some hipster-ish theatres that wanna throw a nanar-night. My family, friends and I have kept lines from this movie that we regularly throw here and there. Of course, I often throw that line « Dommage que tu sois ma soeur » ( there’s no ´pity’ in the French dubbing. It’s just ´a shame’) to my sister and we laugh very hard. Mike ´The American’ has some solid lines as well, including the « la voix pour moi c’est presque la même » (To me, her voice sounds the same). White Fire, Vivre Pour Survivre, Le Diamant. Three titles. One movie. A monument.

Robert Ginty played a guy who runs a phone sex operation on "Baywatch Nights". The character's name was "Steven Sacks". He played another character named "Ray Reegun", who is possessed by the ghost of a serial killer and kidnaps Angie Harmon, in another episode. He gets beaten into a pile of mincemeat by a temporarily blind and deaf David Hasselhoff who fights with nothing but his "lifeguard superhero instincts" to guide him. He's basically "Daredevil" in a Canadian Tuxedo. Since everybody in the comments talks about Ginty's movies, I thought I'd chime in with the high points of his television career. Being on "Baywatch Nights" in both seasons is like having been on two Apollo missions. A human being can't aspire to much more in this world. It was the pinnacle of human existence and culture. Ginty's sister was played by Belinda Mayne, legendary German British character actor Ferdy Mayne's daughter. She was in "Wonderwoman 1984" too, a few years ago. Since "White Fire" is from 1984, that's kind of à propos... Not in her birthday suit, though. There was no need to add GILF fetish stuff to the incest softcore of this movie in her curriculum vitae, I guess. Anyway, as you were!

Ginty was also in Harley Davison and the Marlboro Man, he’s the helicopter pilot at the end who blows Tom Sizemore’s high-rise office to bits.

Ginty was the guy from Paper Chase. One of his greatest/stupidist movies is Warrior of the Lost World. Fred Williamson should be in every movie. The 'Stache is all-powerful.

First time watch - subscribed straight after! So surprised that you hadn't seen The Exterminator, which is what Robert Ginty is most famous for, and features a scene of a mafioso being fed into a meat grinder. It was one of those "must watch" movies when i was at school (I'm old) and we all had a good laugh when he guest-starred on an episode of Different Strokes! As some have mentioned, its borderline SBIG as its pretty coherent BUT the sequel - a very mean-spirited film but it features such goofiness as the bad-guys using the deadly art of breakdancing to attack people and Mario Van Peebles popping moves in a cargo lift on his own for no reason at all.

Are you kidding? Robert Ginty was The Exterminator (1980), one of the best crime/revenge movies ever made -- perhaps second only to Death Wish.

Glad you got around to this one. You'll not be surprised to know the french director made softcore porn before he tried his hand at action. I believe he made one with hang man carradine too (not seen it)

I remember Robert Ginty from the classic 80's B-movie "Warrior of the Lost World", a movie that I'm shocked you haven't seen yet. He's got a talking weaponized motorcycle in that one.

Crazy timing. I watched this movie tonight, to then discover you guys had just done a video of it. No crappy VHS copy for me though. Arrow have released a scrubbed up HD version on blu-ray! Totally odd film (an understatement), but I had a blast watching it.

I know, right? It was as if I subconsciously ignored the video title, and then the movie shoved itself into my brain, saying: "And now, this. Enjoy." I still agree with Jason and the gang on this one, though. In spite of everything, it was a B- masterpiece.

Robert Gint better be familiar to you; he starred in the flame-thrower classic "The Exterminator" and its sequel, as well as in "Lady Dragon"; he was essentially a Z-rated action lead in the 1980s.
