With 64Ah battery pack, it can travel 236 miles if ALL of these apply: Max speed is 10 MPH, tail wind, rider weighs 80 lbs and carries nothing else, going down hill or at least flat level the whole way, road is dry and no rain, travel constantly and no stopping (no stop and go traffic). To go for almost 240 miles at 10 MPH (24 hours straight) with all of those conditions applied at ALL times, the chance of you getting that happen is none.

actually it all comes down to battery, and I dont see it on this bike! On Long hauls, I run with a trailer...in the trailer is 3 other 48v-20ah...after 60 miles, I charge them with a small 1000w Honda Generator, and run down the other 2...by the time those 2 are done, the other 2 are charged!!! I am thinking of doing a Canna-Ball run this year...Generator runs for 3 charge cycles for 1.00$, or 180 miles at 37kmh average...Wanna race??? Cheers
@eliaspianomusic6 жыл бұрын
This is so freaking unefficient. Your generator has an efficiency of 18% to change the energy from your gasoline into electric energy. So you burn 1 Liter gas and get the energy of only 0,18 Liter of it minus the lost of efficiency duo charging which will be round about 5 to 10 percent. Means 0,18 Liters of gas - 0.018(10% "charging-lost") = The power of 0,162 Liters of gas actually get into your battery. Wow, applause you wasted 0,838 Liters of gas for nothing. Please don´t waste so much fuel. Lol
@carlbole21426 жыл бұрын
Actually Elias for that 1.20 of gas I can get 350 miles of travel at a legal 22 miles per hour. charge for free at night, almost anywhere! Thats 16 hours of driving, with 1 gas up! I dont get why you hate this! Your numbers seem odd to me, as to what you are saying...Lay off the opiods...I use electric to drive the motor, not gas! I need no registration, license, or roadside police assistance!
@eliaspianomusic6 жыл бұрын
But I understood it right, did I not?: You use some gas-generator to charge your battery, correct? But then why do you even ride electric if you then charge it with gas or did I miss something? You waste a lot of energy (a really a lot!) + don´t ride green / nature friendly + you make some noice. Where is the purpose for that? You then better ride directly a normal 1kW motorcycle. Seems like you go places as for 563km (350 miles) at 35,4km/h (22 miles per hour) you could possibly ride 15.9 hours without charging / gas up at that speed in case you are right with 1.2 gallons of gas for 350 miles (sound really unrealistic with 0.00859 liters per 100 km). PS: What are opiods?
@carlbole21426 жыл бұрын
I could run my 4 20ah packs down for 6 hours(150 miles max)...then find 2 15 amp outlets and charge all seperately at 3 hours each...There goes a 9 hour day, and I only went 150 miles... With 1.20 gas, and a small generator, I can run for 16 hours and get almost 400 miles...The gen travels behind me so no gasses, noise is on eco-mode...I dont see how 1.20 gas for 400 miles is a waste of energy??? That is not the only way you can charge these cells!!! A motorcycle like you describe has red tape up the wazoo!!! Cheers

I presume you mean 25Ah not Amps, because if it's amps that's power output (maximum speed) and if it's amp-hours that's storage capacity (range). That's a 1.8 kWh battery (kWh = V * Ah / 1000). LiPo batteries have an energy density of 0.25 to 0.73 kWh per litre, so assuming your battery (which may or may not be LiPo and therefore may be much larger without being better) is 1.8kWh and that your battery only gets gets 60km, the size of LiPo battery you need for 236 miles (about 380km) is about 11.4 kWh, which is between 15.6 and 45.6 litres in volume depending on which type of LiPo you use - even the largest of those numbers is about the size of a small camping rucksack.

I've built two e-bikes and found that around 17 watts are required to travel a mile. So? to travel 230 miles, one would need an 8 kw-hr battery. It is possible but requires 1000 18650 cells. Again it's possible but the batteries alone would weigh almost 90 pounds. I guess there's no reason why one couldn't do it but the video didn't seem to represent the size of the battery appropriately.
@TheFootbaldd6 жыл бұрын
There are also a lot of other factors such is average speed, drag and regen as well as tire and wheel choice. I am finishing a battery just shy of 3kw-hr, but am also using motorcycle rims and tires. They carry a lot more inertia. That being said I would definitely agree. Their batteries are way over rated.

hey the e bike idea as an economical transport way , is a rip off, it costs less with a car , i explain , a new battery will be 500 - 1000 dollars, it will do 5 - 10 thousand miles and then need new one, when they sell the bikes they only mention the charging cost which is neglishible , butr NEVER MENTION THE COST OF NEW BATTERY - ITS A BIG CHEATING GAME

@BobFrostV7 жыл бұрын
How many Wh is that battery? That bike has to be using around 3500W to maintain 50mph. That means it would use about 3.5kWh of battery just to travel 50miles. Don't tell me this bike has over 16.5kWh of batteries. Tesla's rating is at least considering moderately realistic driving speeds right?(ie not 215mile range at only 21mph) If you're rating this bike's range at 18mph or something then you're cheating the customer by projecting these ranges while showing this bike traveling at roadway speeds through out this entire video and then saying it will get you farther than a Tesla.. I call bologna.
@Alexander-ou6vl7 жыл бұрын
I do not know the capacity of the battery, but three models differ in electric engine power. The one that travels 380 km has maximum speed around 20 km/h and the most powerful one travels 100 km with a maximum speed of 80 km/h. So, there is no magic, but different models. The one chooses what he/she needs: speed or long range.
@michaelbradley77047 жыл бұрын
You are right, I too am sick to death of the over estimations of distance against speed that most ebike companies promote, my ebike if I used the same calculations that these people use would allow me to go 500Km before I needed to recharge my 60Ah battery. I wouldn't bother purchasing this ebike and I would get a better and cheaper ebike that looks exactly the same from an experienced builder like EM3ev.

I would cut the maker of this video a little slack. First: re: the stated max speed and the max range. I own a car that gets 40 mpg and has a top speed in excess of 100 mph. One would be a fool to assume that when I quote these figures that I am trying to convince you that my car gets 40mpg @ 100+ mph. I don't know what the legal speed limit for a bike is in the UK is but here in Canada it is 20 mph. I assume that the maker of this bike is giving you the range of the bike at legal speeds. My calculation is that at 20mph the bike consumes about 225 watts per hour. 236 miles would consume 12 x 225 = 2700 Wh. My own bike, a Easy Racer GRR, has 3 Hailong 52V-HL03 batteries with a theoretical capacity of 2700 Wh at full charge. I think I see enough volume in the video maker's battery compartment to accommodate these 3 batteries. As for the max range on my own bike @ 20mph with no human assist: I will be putting it's range to the test next summer when I embark on a Vancouver. BC to Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario round trip. Lastly, let me add: that with a measly 75 watts of human assist you could extend the max range to well over 300 miles.

i can definitely get to 60 on a nice long flat piece of highway if i lean forward, there is no headwind and the battery is overcharged to 56V (which is safe to do) as for my range calculations i pedal during acceleration but not during cruise and i do indeed get an average of between 150-280km dependant on route and my riding habits the 360km was calculated under lab conditions based on an observed power draw of 400W when i was riding along a stretch of highway with no wind 4 hours to build the bike the battery was a separate project which took a whole day to build and test and as such was not included in the construction time of the bike i think my numbers are accurate

Yep. Even going 25 MPH on a bicycle on flat roads requires a crazy amount of power. It scales exponentially the faster you go from there. It seems very strange to me for a person to want an "ebike" that goes over 25 MPH anyway. You would be far better off getting a light sports motorcycle or car at that point since the cycling gears would be unusable at that speed anyway. Not to mention... if you happen to hit a deep pothole at that speed, the ebike will kill you as the front fork fails.

Looks like a cheaper knockoff of the Stealth bike from Australia. These bikes are illegal here in Canada as ebikes cannot legally go faster than 30kph.

Well, at least they're getting the range and the price under control, but I won't be interested until they make a bike that I can get away with riding in the Santa Monica Mountains where electric dirt bikes are not allowed. In other words, it has to look more or less like a normal cross-country mountain bike before I am interested in putting down the money to buy one. Otherwise, I'll just stick with dual sport motorcycles that are not allowed on the trails I want to take them on either. Why switch to a gimmicky electric dirt bike?
