I had an old, old, old patient teach me about Vaseline. She looked 60 but was in her 80s. Vaseline was her secret. She used vaseline as her moisturizer in the evening. No wrinkles. She didn’t do this huge amount, just a thin layer as a light face cream. People frown on vaseline because it’s petroleum derived, but it’s non-comedogenic and doesn’t feed bacteria like plant oils. It’s better for your skin if your acne prone, especially fungal acne which feeds and multiplies off of oils and sebum. You just want to use a really good cleanser each day to throughly cleanse the skin the next morning. I use bioderma atoderm cleanser. Love you Wayne. You look great btw.💜

I have used this technique for *decades* and at 65, I don't even have crows feet! I don't always use the eye cream first, but I 'do' always the Vaseline, every single night before bed. (Who cares what it does to your pillowcases--just change/wash 'em!) :)

Beware to my Milia people: If Vaseline is too heavy and clogs your pores, try using a Lil dab of dry oil under your eyes. I even use a Lil bit over my concealer and powder too, no more creasing. I esp like Tatchas dry oil but pricy. I use the Vaseline just on my crows feet since I can't use it directly under my eyes, thought I would share my tips:)

@@fredacharbel7510 I wonder why the Vaseline would irritate your eyes because there are ophthalmic ointments (antibiotics, steroids) that are administered in a petrolatum base because it’s totally inert and does nothing. Are you buying a Vaseline with something in it? Like I actually prefer the one with cocoa butter but that could potentially be irritating. Try to put it around the eyes but not right on the eyelids. Good luck. (Cerave is safe but if you don’t like the Vaseline the cerave will probably be worse).

I've been doing the slugging technique for over a year now, especially during heating season, using CeraVe ointment and I have noticed my skin looking better this past year. I'm 66 and retired so I tend to do this earlier in the day so by the time I go to bed it really hasn't made a mess on the pillowcase.

I just commented and then glanced down and saw your comment about CeraVe Healing Ointment. I’ve been using it for a couple of years, on advice from my dermatologist, and I agree with you 100%! I also apply this a couple of hours before I actually get to bed and have had no issues with it getting on my pillows. I also use it on my cheeks where I have redness due to rosacea. I’ll be 54 in a couple of weeks and the other day a woman (who turned out to be 35) thought I was her age! I don’t think I look quite that young but people often think I’m much younger. I buy the really large tubes and it lasts for ages. My 17 year old daughter has eczema and her hands are so awful especially in the winter with cracking and bleeding. The healing ointment is one of 2 products she can use that doesn’t burn and actually helps. I wish I had some before and after pics.

@@collettchaney120 depends what you mean by ‘baggy’? Loose skin, discolouration, puffiness, or maybe allergies or a combination? The skin around the eye is only about a quarter of the thickness of the skin on the larger areas of your face, so it is always better to treat it more delicately. there is a period of adjustment with products like tretinoin, which is essentially designed to speed up skin cell turnover, that will enhance skin sensitivity, it doesn’t last forever and generally has positive effects on all the other concerns that may cause a baggy appearance to the eye area. But...nothing works if you don’t protect the area with sunscreen. Sunlight is pretty dam good at causing all the problems we associate with baggy eyes

I've been a fan of slugging for quite a while, and I notice a major difference in my skin when I do this regularly (as opposed to getting super lazy and saying "Nope, too tired tonight".) I do slug my whole face; English grandmother on one side, Swedish on the other; so flawless skin, but so dry all the time that it just loses moisture like the surface of Mars. I have to admit I nearly had a heart attack when I saw how much undereye cream you used (lol). But that's by the way. I do want to say that I alternate between Vaseline and Nivea (in the blue tube/jar) for slugging. Nivea has the same ingredients as La Mer, but is affordable, and also women who've used it for years have lovely skin.

My grandmother used Vaseline on the farm/ raising her turkeys. She said grandpa didn’t like the Vaseline on her face very much… but she still used it always (lol) She live 100 years 1900-2000 and her skin was unbelievably amazing all her life right up till her passing. All us granddaughters prayed for her skin. You are helping me care for my skin that grandma gave me and I thank you friend🙏🏻

I have used Vaseline for 60+ years and always looked 20 years younger than my age. However, I switched to the vaseline with coco butter a few years ago and now I look 20 years older than my age. I'm just devastated and actually shocked. My face has wrinkled so much it's pitiful.

I've been applying Vaseline on my dark circles for 4 years now, I've found that it works best right after applying an under eye cream or moisturizer if you use it on other areas of your face as well. I didn't know about this tip, but I just found it worked for me, so I continued with this routine. Another important area is the lips and the area around the lips. If you apply a thin layer, your lips will be soft and healed from any chapping and dryness in the morning. I very often apply a thin layer of Vaseline before lipstick. The key is not to overdo it, so apply in a very thin layer. It is especially important to use petroleum jelly in winter, because it creates a barrier and protects your skin from the cold.

This is exactly what I’ve been doing. In the mornings, after powder, I take just the smallest amount of Vaseline or face oil and tap it under my eyes. No more creasing and no dry under eyes after makeup application

@@a_bookish_gemini Please remember, I am not slugging. I am using the tiniest bit and rubbed between two fingers. For those of us with wrinkles under our eyes, the powder can make them look even worse and chalky. This just rehydrates that area. I have found that I don’t lose any coverage at all but my eyes look much more youthful

I'm 52 and I use no cream at all for my face. Just natrual cosmetics facial toner. My favourite is even very cheap one by German drugstore brand Alverde but I also like Weleda. Been doing this for many years and all my issues with dry skin stopped when I stopped using creams. I'm very happy with my skin, it's healthy, smooth and unwrinkled 🙂 Try to put as little stuff as possible in your face when you have skin troubles.

Hi Wayne!! Thanks so much for this. I have a question about the eye cream application-do you only treat the under eye area typically or do you do the whole eye? I tend to avoid the upper as the cream seems to cause my eye liner to smear on my upper crease even with primer, powder etc. If you've already addressed this in another video I apologize. I would really appreciate some advice and Congratulations 🎊 👏 💐 on your marriage!!

Covid gave me the gift of huge puffy under eye bags. I have used 8 to 10 different brands of creams that say they reduce eye puffiness and not one single one has worked, and in fact, they make it worse. I came up with a kind of nutty idea last week of using egg whites under my eyes after washing my face, and before using any other make up. And it definitely tightened up the bags. I don’t rinse it off. It does not make them go away, but it works much better than all the creams I tried I don’t put make up on top of the bags after I put the egg whites on. And I don’t wash off my eyes afterwards. I’ve been doing this morning and night, and as I said, it works so much better than any of the other expensive creams I have tried.
