I'm hoping this works. I haven't tried this yet but I've always had problems auto sending that darn trade Platform rocket. I don't have the patience to figure it out. So glad for Seck to share this info.

Before watching this, I found a way, basically make a clock (button, delay, button) then branch off that to trade platform. It does seem simpler, The difference is it continually tries to send, the auto arms will have enough scrap there before coming back. A con to that is the auto arms are always on, which probably makes big difference in power with this many arms

Very amazing video to me its super smart to use scrap to get resources its better then the use of extractors and better then the use of the centrifugal soil thing. But is many times more complex but once i saw what you did i makes sense!!

It makes it less complicated to put the silos behind the shredders so that you dont have to clip the arms into the other platform.

Hey quick question. Ever since the automation update came out I’ve always been certain that there not only gonna add tier 5 storage slots AND that medium and possibly large auto arms are eventually going to come to existence. Do you think that they could possibly make such a thing?

That'd be pretty sick but they'd also need to add new platforms for tier 5 stuff. As for auto arms, I don't think they'll add large or medium auto arms but I'd definitely be excited if they did add them. Personally, I don't see a lot of use for large and medium auto arms and I feel like they'd be too much of a niche to be considered. I could only see them being used to pick up resource canisters or packaged items.

Yeah your right. The reason why I asked this is because We’ve been seeing possible tier 5 foreshadowing from the large landing pad you find near your shelter in the beginning of the game and the recked solar array. And also because of the joy I get imagining what the tier five equivalent of Shuttles would like. Also yeah now that I think about it, medium and large auto arms would be pretty niche to be honest. The only reason I can imagine them being used is for more efficient scrap production.

hi. just wanted to ask if i did something wrong. so; i build everything like you did but when the trading rocket arrives the jump jets dont get sucked into the storage. i`m playing on ps5 :/ is this some tech differences between platforms? or am i just lost?^^

why not just use 2 auto arms instead of 3 and 2 M platforms instead of 4 by putting the containers directly behind the shredders and have the arms feed strait back?

Hey, Seck! Thank you for your amazing videos! I'm really impressed by the way you set all of this up! Have you tried to set up two trading platforms for this chain? I feel like it's more than possible to set up two trading platforms per two shredders, maybe even three platforms, given the amount of time it takes the rocket to arrive with resources.

I was working on one for a while, but it's really finicky making one that's perfect. I just have a large resource canister filled with each resource, in a long long row. Check out my other factory vids to see what I'm talking about

Great video but I’m having a bit of a problem with the first two auto arms. They will load up one load for the trade platform but then will switch off and not carry on after the jump jets have been moved to the shredder. Any notes would be great.

Hi, thanks for watching. Try picking up your storage sensors, place them back down, and re-wire your system. You may have put the storage sensor down on the wrong item or placed a pin on the wrong item.

@@Secks Seck, you show in the Video to set it, (the 2nd one) but you don't mention where to put the first sensor on (on the on empty platefor, and trade station)

@@jimdenton9770 attach the first sensor to the large empty platform and wire it to trade platform and the two first auto arms and set it to "full or empty". The second sensor should be placed on the medium storage on the same platform as the trade platform and will be wired to the power switch. The second sensor should be set to "empty or not empty"

@KanaGames31 My problem was I had turned on both of auto arms before starting the machine. If you made this mistake, disconnect your power, turn off the first arm but leave the second one on, it should fix the issue.

Because it doesn't matter. You get 2 Solid-Fuel Jump Jets for 1 astronium.

that is explained in this video. You cannot directly do it because that's not how astroneer works, so you have to make a work-around where you launch it when a similarly sized platform is emptied into the trade platform.

it is really cool but it is way more over-engineerd than its need to, there are more easy ways to do it like you dont need al the storage sensors beceuse its going to stop whit filling up when it is full.

Unfortunately that isn't the case. It's really easy to make a system without canisters using the loading/unloading mechanics already in the game but you have to enable/disable the resource canisters to receive or dispense resources, which complicates things a lot. My system here isn't perfect, but if you're looking for a high-capacity system using resource canisters, some of the mechanics of this system are a good place to start. As for the proximity repeaters, looking back I could have designed the system without them. They were part of a previous design and I forgot they weren't necessary when using auto arms.

Yeah, you probably do because it will have too many jump jets and wouldn’t be able to process them fast enough. If you’re in early game I suggest checking out kuya games video, then come back late game to make this

Hi Aiden, you can make it work with smaller shredders too, it would just run a little bit slower. With how I designed the system, backup should not be an issue. Thanks for watching!

Hi, I love the idea of this farm, I have an awful scrap farm that I designed where an auto extractor grabs resin and makes canisters to shred. Im defo gonna build this but just wondered if there is any way to fully automate astronium or any other way to fully automate scrap? Defo subbing btw!

Use extractor and rail line for astronium. I used secks method in video linked, had more then I could ever use now
