OMG I laughed so hard at your video! I followed the entire story since 2020 as I was one of the people waiting for a refund. I saw him moving to Zanzibar while everyone was waiting for their money 😂 To be completely honest, I got a refund! But for New Metal festival (only 2x25€). My 2020 Metaldays ticket was changed to 2022 ticket which I have been unable to attend so I sold it. It was a good move obviously. Thank you for the great work!

I'm kinda surprised you didn't mention the extra charge for "luxury" camping (which they then opened up to everyone once they had fleeced those who were willing to pay extra), or the total rip-off cup "deposit" system, or the fact that their promo videos showed facilities (water slides, etc) which were totally not there.

Some things are a bit inaccurate about Tolmin and Velenje situation: Firstly Metaldays festival did not buy the land in Velenje, they are renting the land for the duration of the festival from the local camping area. Secondly the situation in Tolmin is much more interesting, as the local officials have raised the ''tourist tax'' to that amount that running a big festival such as Metaldays was just not viable anymore. In 2025 they will be raising this tax again and many other festivals unrelated to the Metaldays hosts have publicly stated, that they will be pulling out of Tolmin in 2025 as well .

Last year i spontaneously bought a resell ticket for metaldays 2023, the tickets where personalised so i wrote the support for changing the name on tickets just a few days before the deadline for name change. I waitet a few days for the answer.... a few hours before the deadline ended i got an email with my PESONALISED REFUND Ticket Ticket from "2020", with the note i can resell the Ticket. WTF a few hours before the Deadline ends. And from the Ticket i bought and paid Money i never get any response. That was tthe moment i deceided that 2023 will be my last time on Metaldays, the Festival i loved to go for 15 Years!

Some very great points, but I'd like to mention that Its most likley that things would end in Tolmin regardless and it is difficult to say that is because of Boban VS mayort at that time, because even with the new mayor things are moving away from festivals - those are getting very limited. Tolmin is changing their focus when it comes to tourism, unfortunately.

I cant count anymore how many especially small Festivals get canceled. I think Some festivals lose too much many because of Inflation. This behavior makes IT even worse. 2024 even the big Festivals dont have good lineups in my opinion and the nearly only biggest Hope is rockharz

I am one of those still waiting for the 2020 refund. I got to your video from their latest FB post. So SUDDENLY they can speak? Interesting. I get that there might be false accusations and rumours around, but what did they expect? The lack of communication was not helpful to say at least. They could have adressed at least the ongoing refund issues earlier. And the cancelled festival for this year... Man, what a mess. Curious if I will ever get a refund.

never again Metaldays. I went to 6 metal festivals last year. 5 in Germany. Slovenia is a poorer country. Food and drink at Metaldays were more expensive than any other festival. That was also the case the year before. The new new place was not as nice as in Tolmin. The worst thing was the smell of the factory nearby, there was a constant smell of rotten eggs. drink a beer under this smell......In 2020, "NEW METAL Festival" was canceled. It was the pre-fest before Metaldays arriving 3 days early. Unknown bands would have played there. To this day I have never gotten the money back

Wrong. Those 2 festivals have to pay a much higher fee for the next 4 years precisely because of Boban. The road was an issue, but Metaldays moved and Tolmin got very tough on festivals because of Boban.
