The deputy was not facing justice. The prosecutor was using the coroner's inquiry to score political points against the elected sheriff, ergo not a shit movie. Actually, a pretty good movie. 😎😎 {Certified Old Curmudgeon}

​@@MortenNilsen-i2gyet cop never figured it out who/how/why murder of 3 people. Only we audience know. Miss daughter and pappa gold mine could have been in on it. Where was the mother? Maybe she ran away with that VP & kids were helping steal from dad so dad and bartender/inkeep took care of it. DA was right, something wrong with that well funded police force. I did enjoy following the useless "facts", noting ignored investigative steps and laughing at the wrong huge assumptions. Dissapointed it all came down to just what guano guy and lady hotpants (a suspect and girlfriend) told him. DA was right, something wrong with that well funded police force, especially our hero in a basement office marrying a suspect. Scooby Do had better mystery plotlines in under 30 minutes.
