Season that griddle Heiko. Black stone makes a seasoning blend
@fredbrown8894Ай бұрын
Hiko, if you have a generator you can run an extension cord from a generator to your boat hoist. This way, it'll work whether the power is on off. If you don't understand what I mean, write me back and I'll let you know

19:39 Usually That part of the grill has a small hole cover it up and put some white vinegar let it sit overnight then scroll it out. All the rest should come off and then turn it on and put some oil on in Also removing that plate will be better than leaving it out there Hopefully this helps you.

You need to season the iron grill with cooking oil, first clean off all rust and heat the grill and turn off the heat and rub on cooking oil olive or coconut oil and leave it on the flat grill you can heat it again and repeat the process until you have a seasoned grill then if you always clean and wipe it with oil after use it should stay nice and ready for cooking. Also dont leave it out in the weather store it in your man cave😁🔥

fun and vintage SFFC fishing lifestyle video, however there was a distinct lack of motorcycles which i'm ok with for now, ...so long as it's coming in the future (:

Have you used planers as dowmrigger? We place them on their own line tied to a cleat and use a clip or a rubberband to send them down the planer's line. Very effective to get a lure deep and not have to fight a fish plus a heavy weight
@SouthFloridaFishingChannelАй бұрын
yea we just did that! The video will be coming out Monday! =)
@mbartolaccАй бұрын
That is definitely a sand tilefish. You needed to spray a little oil on it and then season it to keep the fish from drying out on the grill due to the fact that there is very little dark meat on that fish. I caught a ton of these a few years ago off of Jupiter, usually over spots where we also caught yellowtail and toro snappers .

I'd kinda prefer that the guys 40 feet in the air get to use the non-windy day for safety's sake.

Great video bro, Love watching you and Capt. Dan do your thing. Might I suggest get all the rust off the griddle side and clean it up real good and re-season it. I learned the hard way a long time ago when I bought my Backstone. I watched a few KZbin videos and now it stays clean and ready to use. Cleaning is as easy as pouring water on it while its hot like you deglaze a pan while cooking. God bless and see you on the next one.

Its good to keep a layer of oil on it after you use it each time, and like others say, after you season it too. The salt air isn't going to help. Outside doesn't help either but its sort of a game of practicality on that one. If you learn to take care of it, you will love it. I don't like the thin ones, because the heat will come through in one spot rather than spread more evenly. But if you get some Montreal steak seasoning from mccormic, and some season salt, then sear each side on high heat for a bit(oil is just getting to smoke point), then turn the heat down very low to cook. You will get crowd favorite best steaks. Just make sure you take it off at the right internal temperature. I usually stick to filet mignon, but do as you wish.

Have you tried seasoning and oiling the flat top? That should keep it from rusting. A cover would help a ton too

Boat lift should have a switch to lower when power is out. Mine does!

@deanhostetter5040Ай бұрын
I believe what you caught is indeed a sand tile fish. A slippery dick is a type of wrasse. a different fish. Your flat iron grill is a pain trust me. I bought a Camp Chef with the gas add on. My griddle kept rusting also. Can't leave it outside . Draws moisture I guess. After I clean it from use, I oil it then bring it inside. Seems to be working out now. Oh, constant wind here in Va as well. Last few years has been bad. I feel your pain.
@SouthFloridaFishingChannelАй бұрын
Yea it's a Sand Tile but we just call it a dick fish because it's funny since it's long a slippery LOLOL
