In this video I stayed local to track down a fish species that I had never caught or seen in this area before. The population of Allegheny Pearl Dace in south east Pennsylvania have been sampled by the state for over a decade, but there was never any public records of where this species was caught. I looked for a cold water stream with a mix of sandy bottom and lots of roots and sticks which the Allegheny Pearl Dace lives in. I pinned some Radom access points on google maps and started driving. By sheer luck the first access point I arrived at I walked downstream quite a ways and found the fish I was after!! After catching several and taking decent photographs of the Allegheny Pearl Dace we now have public records of this species! Just so happens that this was about 6 miles from where they are typically sampled which makes this a lot cooler!
