Tryg has been one of my all time fav players and is such a good hang! I remember mixing him like a decade ago and hearing him use that PS5 and being like...WHAT is that thing??! Such a great find. I'm currently using the '64 black into a Noble (both on!) as really they are two different things (amp sim vs class A preamp w/ tone stack) and if you are feeling gluttonous... that is the *chefs kiss*

I get a similar sound as the PS5 using an expression pedal with the pitch shifter in the HX Stomp. I have it set for one octave drop, then I can switch it to 2 octaves up for sweep sounds. I got that from Doug Wimbush

While we're on the topic of Boss, try out that new BP-1w out. Got it for my brother and had to try it on Bass and was pretty pleasantly surprised! Funny you mention rounds on P basses too, I used exclusively rounds on mine for years. Fresh Lo Riders on a P, into a wide open SVT. Everyone should experience that. And while we're now on SVTs... checked out a SansAmp VT Bass DI and had my mind blown. Knew about it for years but sort of ignored it since I had a BDDI v2 already. That was a mistake. I think there's a swap in my future soon. Noble... I don't know what to make of it anymore. I feel like it caused a massive storm that made people catch up super fast. Rising tide raises all boats for sure there. I think if I were really pressed though, I might take the Bass Rig over it these days.

Try putting a DOD Meatbox pedal after this one when playing over a good PA (please don’t have these effects over your typical bass rig!). When I use a lot of sub bass effectpedals live, I won’t bring bass cabinets, but bring one or two of my HK Premium Pro 2x10 PA cabs with their low pass filters removed... They can handle the subs with ease. 🖖

The neck of his P is post ‘75/‘76. I guess ‘77/‘78. The type of lettering on the headstock shows this. 🖖

I let a 70s maple Precision go back around '95. One of my worst bass decisions ever. I picked it up at a bargain price, £180, to keep gigging while my Wal was being worked on, resprayed. Then I went and sold it to a student for much the same money, maybe £20 more.

I’ve never heard of this trick. So you just put some vaseline or lanolin on string to speed up the broken I. Process? I love the sound of broken in rotosound Swing66 bass rounds. If I could get that sound off the jump 🤗
@sumeursault Жыл бұрын
@@soulstart89 Swing66 is also my go-to, and yes, this is gonna change your life. Just coat the string before you install it, wiping off any egregious excess. Voilà, you've got a pretty close approximation of broken in strings. No more suffering through ugly new string sound!
