Wish they let you set a sample as an oscillator in the future, so you can apply the envelope & stuff.

You can apply envelopes to samples already

You kinda can by looping the sample, using a small section, apply crossfade and ping pong, and turn off one shot so that it decays naturally. You got attack and release already; and, loop becones sustain while letting go becomes decay.
