Thanks for the Wavea Flite find today. I have been interested in apps that let you start with your own samples and incorporate them into playback/layering/splitting/mangling, etc... This looks like everything I had wanted Waves CR8 to be, and more. Also, seems like Flite might give folks the ability to eventually create and share sample libraries in a format that Flite Free users could use for playback. We will see! Thanks again, Sanjay -- hope you get to a half million soon, and then a million afterward. I always look forward to Saturday mornings and your particular insight. Also, give my best to Dharti... Yeah, Vital is king, if you don't want to pay for Serum. Vital can load synth patches, which are available from different sources. I haven't found synth patches for Analog Lab. Arturia should work on that.

Thanks for the news. I got a big big news personnaly this week, presonus announced v7 and a big change in their economical approach. As for the QOTW, I use decent sampler a lot as a free synth. Also labs from spitfire. And recently I discovered an old free plugin but soooo realistic, Dexed, it is quite amazing to have a DX7 that good for free

Not as "sexy" as Vital, but it just seems more approachable to me; like it's okay to try something and I haven't failed if it doesn't work out.

The Console 1 looks interesting, but if you aren't using Cubase, you need to put the plugin on each track (audio and midi), in order to use it. Yes, you could set in your default tracks, however, if you use Cubase, they have an installer that does not require this. Would love to see them do this for other DAWs, such as Live.

Best free Synth is VITAL no doubts! The possibilities are endless, I started my Sound design Journey on that Synth. I made over 100 presets on that thing alone, and I don't sound design on anything 😂

I use an Icon V1-M production controller in my home studio. It really increased the productivity of my workflow. It is like a console with a Streamdeck. built in. Not perfect in Studio One but very close, I'm moving to Ableton anyway where I hear it is much better. Not my reason for moving away from Studio One, but that is another subject...

Atm, vital is hands down the absolute best in class for free synths. Though Shortcircuit XT is shaping up to be an impressive multisampler hybrid and might actually take over even kontakt on w it's out of pre-alpha. Tried out what they have so far and it's pretty crazy how much sound design can be done already.

It's gonna be hard for anyone to take on Kontakt. Dozens of libraries for full Kontakt, even more for free. On it's 8th version. Who knows when Shortcircuit will even be version 1.0

ah look, another sample player. not sure how this is any better than Just a bunch of one shots that could be loaded into any other sampler.. actually id much prefer just a collection of samples which is what this sampler is using., that way I could just use them without having to download another proprietary sampler. everyone wants to jump on the "I asked chatgpt how to make a vst instrument" bandwagon though I guesse
