Really surprised by the crappy performance of the awesome 18mm. But then I've never used it for video. Great practical comparison.

The light over your right shoulder really shows what the lenses are doing .

You are right people have been racing about the 18mm . Focus hunting was bad on that one . The transitions in focus were a lot smoother on the 18-55 kit lens

Thanks for watching. I hope it was just a bad copy, but I've seen others mention the focus breathing when shooting up close. The 18-55mm is buttery smooth and one of my oldest lenses.
