After playing the game myself the secret was process of elimination, the rules are so brutally simple that none of the solutions really have too many steps, meaning that successfully determining what you can’t do makes you hone in on the solution faster than messing around. Had to sleep on a few puzzles.

TBH, pretty confident it's just PRAAAAACTICE. Never understood Minesweeper in my life, but after watching him play Demon Crawl, I really wanted to try it. At first, I couldn't even beat the easiest campaign. Now I have 212 hours played and can almost always beat the hard campaign, if I don't get RNG screwed. (Which unfortunately happens a lot on hard.)

@@mrrp405 That's mild shit compared to being near the end, full armor, getting the curse that makes you take 1 damage for every 50 cells and just not having a way to heal the damage, so losing... Or getting a boss that hard counters the one thing you have going for you so you wipe because of bad RNG causing them to grab a lot of dark hearts. Etc lol

This game reminds me of Baba is You in the way that most levels have a "hidden mechanic" which technically follows the rules of the engine, but isn't intuitive. Love it!

Thanks for playing this and torturing yourself. So far, I've solved an embarrassingly small number of levels without watching how you did it, but that was my expectation going in. This is one of those games whose difficulty is inversely proportional to the number of pixels. It's perfectly logical, apart from the weird hidden interactions, but so hard to put together the right steps for the solution. Great video.

Love the timer, please keep it. Just a minor issue I have with it are the tenths and hundreds constantly flickering in my peripheral view, it's kinda distracting to me. If it's added in post, I'd love them to be limited to puzzles that take you under a minute. Obviously this only applies, if there's more people than just me who are affected by it.

Have not finished the video yet. Magicube is definitely a good game for your mindset, difficult thinking puzzles. However, it is also too easy for a puzzle to become tedious, and "one small mistake ruins everything".

I enjoy when a puzzle has you go through multiples ideas and its iterations until you finally realise the solution. Though, I think at a certain point it would get tedious which this game's difficulty is balanced to prevent so far. I don't know how to feel about the janky timing based mechanics in this otherwise grid-based game.
