It was very much like Little Nightmares, but also more, to me at least. This game was honestly so beautiful and scary to me - the music, the atmosphere, the feeling of being so small in such a large, frightening world was a little humbling being reminded of. I remember feeling like that as a child and it was freaky being reminded of it during the game, tbh. I really enjoyed hearing/seeing different aspects about Swedish folklore in this game, and of course the Hall of the Mountain King was absolutely spectacular and familiar when the music began to play during the final boss battle. It was fun but also frustrating and was like the cherry on top for me during that fight - knowing the tempo of that song almost helped me get into a rhythm while fighting King Nils.

I think what's real interesting about this game is that it mostly feels like it's trying to share a really interesting and dark fantasy world. The game play was definitely not bad, but it wasn't really all that complex or unique, and the main story although interesting was straight forward and not all that deep. What this game did provide though was a dark fantasy world that is definitely worth exploring and learning about, and honestly this game did a fantastic job at presenting it, giving you the right mechanics and tools necessary to explore the world, and showing enough of the world to have you immersed and fascinated by it, while still not overstaying its welcome. There's still a lot of mystery to the environments you go through, where you can clearly understand what's going on in the environment with just enough context clues to see how events might have unfolded in the setting, but it isn't blatantly explained. It actually reminded me a lot of the story telling style and world building done in Dark Souls and Elden Ring.
@Пинагод Жыл бұрын
Yeah, the game wasn't as dark as Little Nightmares, though it didn't need to be. It was its own thing that wanted to share its own concepts and ideas using Nordic mythology. This really feels like a passion project to display Swedish/Nordic mythologies, and they did such a great job of incorporating it into world-building of a video game.
