If you don't side with Jess in the argument at the beginning, Emily will cooperate and go through the window. Your choices affect her behavior, if you don't back her up she'll be combative later. She's probably the most affected by player choice in terms of character development.

I'm so glad to see what you think of this game. I have a soft spot for it. My good friend died earlier this year, and many years back he bought me this game for my birthday. When he brought it over he wanted me to play it, assuming it was 1 player, for him. But we ended up passing the controller back and forth. Every time we went back to Peter Stormare, we would pass it; we helped one another with decisions, unless they were the quick ones. It was a blast and I'll never forget it. We tried to kill the people we hated, but they lived and the ones we liked ended up dying lol.

The characters are definitely interesting in this game. Sam discouraged the prank and refused to participate in it, then was right there trying to console Hannah so fast that she might've decided to interrupt it; Josh and Chris were asleep. Far as I'm concerned, they're the innocents in this. With the others, there are moments you want to like them. Ashley and Jess seem to feel bad, while Mike and Em (and Matt by his silence and focus on Emily when he was the one filming the prank) don't. It's complex. I love that chat was mentioning Detroit: Become Human. That's my all-time favorite choice game, though this one's up there as well.

I remember when it first came out and the youtuber I was watching was finding information that made Emily a lot more likable that by the end she was the best character outside of scripted best girl sam.

@@sueoshea2131 Yeah, there are definite dimensions to the characters. One could call Emily a bitch, but after seeing some of what she can do, we might have to amend it to badass bitch. And as the game itself points out, narcissism is often a coping mechanism for insecurity. Maybe if we saw Emily's parents, we'd understand her better. At the same time, it's hard not to hate what she did to Hannah... yet she's also pretty young. So many nuances. Even with Mike and Em, I don't think they're irredeemable. That makes them interesting, and more realistic. We humans are seldom all good or all bad. We can learn and grow. It's so sad Hannah and Beth couldn't.

Omg, you're playing Until Dawn? I remember when it first came out I spent hours analyzing different lets plays trying to find clues as to what's really going on in the story. I managed to figure one twist out pretty early and was really, really proud of myself. This is gonna be so wonderfully nostalgic!

The thing is, Dark Pictures are more like "campfire horror stories", while Until Dawn and The Quarry are horror movies that you play. I personally really liked Little Hope because I enjoy psychological horror much more than "scary monsters". But they are relatively short experiences where you have fun with your friends once and probably forget it exists.

I keep coming back to rewatch this and The Quarry series every few months, they’re so cozy and they feel somehow nostalgic despite only being 2 years ago. I usually put your videos on in the background whilst playing / doing sum else but for these I always catch myself forgetting what I was originally doing! Such good games!

49:00 Drowning is for me way more terifying. Because the process of dying from drowning is much longer than when you drop from a deadly height and splash on the bottom.... like, the freefall is scary, but also you get full of adrenaline. But the splash is pretty much instant

28:00 As a proud American, it angers me how this guy is not wearing ANY ear or eye protection and has no trigger or muzzle discipline. He's breaking so many basic rules that anyone who has actually been to a gun range would know. Get that gun out of that boy's hands before he hurts himself or someone else! Also, that range is set up in a horrible spot. You're shooting into a forest and you have no idea if someone is out there who could accidentally get shot.

If you really like horror-themed adventure games like this with a lot of exploring I can highly recommend Black Mirror (parts 1-3). It's czech game, but Im pretty sure that on steam it will be in english language as well.. one of the greatest czech games of all time. Also good to see this game back after 7 years.

Some of the best memories I have are from playing this game for the first time with my cousin. Rotating out who's playing every chapter, and essentially having two different minds with plans on how to progress made this a lot of fun. Super happy you gave this one a shot, hope you enjoyed it!

Before I even click play - you are playing literally my favorite horror games recently and I am sobbing. you are targeting the right audience that is for damn sure my friend. I forgot about that and I am just dying over Jess' faces Around 2:00:00 I genuinely enjoyed the commentary on Jess and Mike. You would be surprised how many little things actually matter in this game! A lot of the clues lead to extra dialogue, and if you'd kept going slow while chasing down Jessica, she LITERALLY would have died, it defs matters! *Edit:* Also, Emily will never crawl through the window UNLESS you side with her during the fight with Jess! You need a high relationship with her in order for her to agree with the window thing

This is one of my favorite games, I really should revisit it myself because I had everyone saved until the end, when a don't move event got Sam unalived. Almost perfect. Anyway, I was gonna watch your Devil in Me series, but then I saw this and had to check it out first. I really wish this game was available on PC. The game The Quarry comes out on the 10th, which I’m super excited to play! I also just recently played House of Ashes, which was amazing. I was so close to having everyone alive at the end, but 3 died in the last half hour of the game. I definitely plan on eventually trying again, and trying to see if I can get them all to survive

From what I understand Squatter's Rights (depending on state but I think what I know is in general) that if a squatter lives in an abandoned home/building for a prolonged time and usually if they renovate or in anyway take care of the property they can claim and get ownership of said house/building. My thoughts on why it exists is either dissuade people from owning property and just leaving it rot for no reason, or to incentivize squatters to keep abandoned places look nice and/or keep its value. I am no lawyer or have even looked up squatter's rights but this is what I picked up from a YT vid years ago.
