It's unfortunate that the later titles didn't get as much into the lore. Morrowind did get into some of the related story but Oblivion and Skyrim for instance treated the Dremora as simple 1-dimensional cannon fodder. Battlespire gave amazing life to all of the Daedra.

Battlespire was originaly going to be expansion pack for Daggerfall, thats why it has no towns to trade goods and the combat system is similar to Daggerfall. Making it stand alone was big mistake

The creation engine itself isn’t necessarily the problem. It’s the way Bethesda has handled it. When they were making Morrowind, they were rushed for time and running out of money. As such, they cut a ton of corners making the engine. Come time to make Oblivion and Skyrim, they decided to base their new engine directly on the Morrowind one, which had been scraped together at the last minute. They need to go back the the basics and rebuild the Morrowind engine or just use a new one

How typical that the comfiest, most inhabitable looking level in Battlespire is the one with a game-breaking bug that corrupts your save files. That's pretty counter-intuitive if you ask me.

If you don't know Mehrunes Dagon from Oblivion, you probably at least hopefully know him as that dude who gives you a dagger that can instantly kill people on hit in Skyrim but only really says anything at the END of his Daedric Quest, unlike the rest of them who give you your main objective for the quest.

From what I can see, I can see some of that classic old RPG charm. From “me arthritis” here, to the faux-Shakespearean menus in Arena, to the goofy stuff in AD&D (froghemoths are still around, and they’re not only silly, but insanely strong), the old guard had a really dorky (and great) sense of humor.

Maybe Battlespire is actually a silver lining to the old Bethesda cloud. It was a buggy, broken mess like Fallout 76, it broke with gameplay traditions, like Fallout 76, it was missing features like Fallout 76, it looked like crap like Fallout 76, and it was also experimental like fallout 76, and we all know that a while after it came the likes of Morrowind and Oblivion, so perhaps we can divine the future from the past, and ES 6 won't suck like a Dyson-powered whore!
