i actually think a year behind dalton isn’t the worst thing for bryce. sometimes throwing rookie qbs (even if they are 1st overall picks) into the fire isn’t always the best choice some guys just need to watch the game from the side and see the film before they catch on and i think bryce will be all the better from a year of watching dalton and stepping in from time to time in garbage time or if andy gets hurt

I can't say I knew Bryce wouldn't work out the day of the draft, but I felt it in my bones, and nothing he's done since ever made me think differently. He just never had NFL QB qualities. And of course, starting with a bad team your first year is a great way to destroy a QB. Seems like a really nice guy, and never say never, but he should pursue his Plan B.

It's Bryce's sophomore season. He played his entire rookie season as the starter for a very bad panthers team. Players are always awful when they start their rookie year. And he got beat so bad he lost his confidence. Let him sit behind the Red Rifle for a while, maybe even move him to another team. We've seen *1 game* of Andy Dalton heading this team, against a defense that's much worse than the saints or the chargers. It's just not reasonable to come out afterward and call Bryce "ended" or a bust. It's a massive overreaction.

I think one of the most important lessons here is that rookie QBs shouldn't always be thrown to the fire. Some can make it work, others need time to develop.
