There is a way to have 2 handed weapons, if you have 2 of them in your backpack and one is in the left slot you can pull the backpack out and let go and quickly grab downwards

It does. Granted, it's much better than it was at launch, but I still wouldn't recommend this to anyone that want a fun experience
