@@gerardo9073 Sounds like you never utilized the other gameplay mechanics. You can use three different staff stances which have special attacks for different situations, use "see through" heavy attacks that work like parries with I-Frames, two types of transformation attacks with many options to choose from, use different staffs that you can make your build around. Not to mention the special abilities like: rock solid, invisibility or immobilize that add another layer to the combat. Yes in the most basic sense, light attacks are the thing you're gonna be using the most, but if that's all you end up doing and never mix it up with options that are given to you, that's on you not the game.

From what I've seen of RTGame's video, the end of Endless Mode in Balatro is when the game glitches out and shows "nameinf" instead of whatever gigantic number you reached. Basically, the game can't cope with the number and gives up.

Connor hit the nail with his observations of chinese games. They seems to have a lot of visual flare and stimulation, but the actual structure and the "bones" of these games are basic as shit. Definately a symptom of having a lot of budget to spend on visual work, but still lacks development experience to create a great game, gameplay wise.

I'm the same way but that's the same with any souls game for me (yes they're not the same) because I'm not a big fan of banging my head in in games, i just want to relax or enjoy the story. Honestly, the story of wukong isn't interesting either cause I would read OG wukong or db hell even Stephen Chow's chinese Odyssey, which is a "prequel" really good.

Black Myth got weird with its boss fights in the best way. I’ve never played a game like it. End chapter cinematic videos involving stop motion? My only complaints were healing during fights, invisible walls and no map. But…I’m going to compare this game against all the ones that come after it and they won’t be Souls games which this is not and that is just fine. Just happy to be surprised by a big game. Indies seem to be doing the heavy lifting in that category these days.

It feels shallow to me, I mean yes there are synergies between the jokers, vouchers and whatnot but playing it doesnt feel fun personally. Im not eager to try another run with different build nor unlock new cards unlike other roguelikes. Granted that I only managed to beat the green stake with like 1m score at most so far which is far less than whats possible but i feel like Ive seen everything the game has to offer

I knew I had to uninstall Balatro when I booked a flight in the first row so I could leave first and the cleaning crew told me I had to get off the plane. And there’s not a pause issue with the game. It’s made by the devil. Saying that, play it. It has the most genius game mechanic since Tetris. The dev (only dev) put in his will that it could never be used in a casino after he dies. Animal Well this year as well and countless other gems? AAA to me now is a company I call when I have a flat tire.

Wukong is similar to stellar blade in that the most important thing it needs to do right, it does right (boss fights for wukong, combat systems for stellar). But most things around that could use alot of improvement. The invisible walls are way too common in a game about "the monkey king" where creative movement comes to mind. I get criticism of chinese games and black myth where theres very little style trappings in favor of "OMG LOOK AT THE REALISTIC GRAPHICS." And the plot was mostly incomprehensible babble. If the dev team can improve on those shortcomings, I think a sequel could be fantastic

I strongly prefer ff7 rebirth. That game is really special. The cutscenes and character interactions are just on another level. So much subtle body language the characters don't even have to say much and you know exactly what their feeling. And combat is amazing and the mini games are all really high quality

@ well I can say with certainty that if you think black myth wukong is just nice graphics, and the combat is terrible, that’s a L take. And for an action rpg game what you are griping on are extremely minor and limited to only one or two boxes. If you want to nitpick I have issues with elden ring hit boxes as well, and given the difficulty it was more frustratingly so. So bmw was slightly better in terms of combat. If I would say Sekiro does way better with the hitboxes, but then again it’s a small detail. I did not feel like the “filler” bosses in bmw are as bad as what is portrayed but the peak fights in bmw definitely near sekiro by a mile, so imo it’s up there and it’s definitely not as bad as what people make it up to be. I have not tried NIOH 2 so I can’t compare

@ I don’t think the combat is uninspired, again that just speaks to me like you aren’t really an action game aficionado youre claiming to be. There are many new combat mechanics ( freezing the enemy, parrying with stone, summoning clones) that it doesn’t seem boring at all , and there are different builds with different spirit buffs and so on. While it is still limited compared to elden ring, im not judging that game solely based on that because the combat was deep enough to keep me satisfied, and frankly there are a lot of people who feel the same way about the game . Im not sure what you are trying to put by saying the combat mechanics are bad, either you do not know how to play the game or have not made it past the first chapter
