Normally I do an eBay search then filter sold and completed items and that tells me what people paid over the last 90 days. Then I compare to what is listed to figure out a sell through rate. The last thing I showed is actually from Worthpoint and it’s a paid membership of I think $24 a month. Kind of pricey but it has up to 10 years of eBay sold history and really good for rare or hard to find items. I use it daily.

I grew up learning to sew on and then sewing sooooo many pieces of clothing on vikings. My mother had a sewing shop - patterns, fabric, classes, and ONLY Husqvarna Viking sewing machines. They had different cams you could insert for stitchery patterns. And they would sew through leather. The guys recognize, I'm sure, the Husqvarna brand from another item: chain saws. You want the stand/base for all sewing machines. Otherwise it has to be left in the ugly white case and people don't want that in their house. I had a 1918 singer that sold for 70 bucks without the base and over 600 with it.
@ausername7470
@ausername7470 2 жыл бұрын
Yeah, even as someone who doesn't sew, I would've taken the base as all my relatives sew a lot and the ones that have a base compared to my grandma and aunt who don't, having it displayed on a base when not in use looks much better
@michaelwillman5342
@michaelwillman5342 2 жыл бұрын
The problem is shipping, that stand looks like a 70s/80s fake wood paneling style stand and would need a huge box to ship, and would likely add little to no real value to the sale. A bit different than a 1918 Singer with a cast iron & oak cabinet.

Who said that he has to pay for a small dumpster or even go to the landfill site. He can simply break up the stand into small pieces and throw it all away in his regular trash. He can either choose to throw it away all at once or do little by little each week

@@JN-53 I'd rather just pay $5 and let someone else deal with that, and either way you are paying a cost to dispose of it. The only way you aren't is if its just one item and you never fill your regular garbage bin, but this guy does this professionally so its not just going to be one item.

That's like the time my mom bought a Compact Tristar vacuum cleaner for 30$, mostly because they didn't know what they had. We still have it today, 12 years later. Easily one of three vacuum cleaners you should always keep your eye out for. I also managed to find another one a couple weeks ago for 80$, but it was missing the power head.

I have a friend who had a garage/estate sale when her father died. She knew she was selling her father’s belongings way under their value, but she just wanted to get rid of everything. She has a really good job that pays more than what she would make taking the time to sell every item online. For some people selling things online is not worth the hassle. And for those who are willing to put forth the effort, there’s no reason they shouldn’t benefit from it.

Buddy missing out on the stand that goes with the sewing machin, people who sew want to have a stand because it's at the correct level for the sewing machine. you don't just plop a sewing machine on a table if you're making a quilt it's going to kill your back. A quality machine like a Husqvarna deserves to go with the stand that it comes with, Husqvarna also has a trade-in policy we're upon which you can get a minimum amount to trade in your old the old machine to get a newer machine so next time you run into a Husqvarna bring it to a dealership and see what you can get in for a trade in price and sell it for that.
