I feel for you Rory. Same thing happened to me at the Manufacturers Cup at Suzuka where the rain came about half way through the race. I could only do the final race, so I only had one shot. Hours of practice for nothing as I went into the pit and saw that I hadn't bought inters... I felt sick. So sorry for you man! Keep your head up, on to the next race.

That was a very dirty overtake, would have gotten him a temporal ban on SRS and in many racing communities I just saw you got your position back minutes later in the video so it´s fine

@@leruty he missed his braking point, but also got hit by the guy behind even harder. In the race I was expecting him to give back the position but it is what it is. I came prepared for the race and knew when the rain is coming and also managed my tyres better, so no harm done in the end

21:00 That´s why sims/simcades suck where you buy cars and accessories to use them in races (especially in multiplayer). Not like proper games like AC, ACC, PC2 etc

I dont know, it seemed to me like slicks slicks was the best option anyway. But swap midrace, It was only half a lap of intermediate. just had to make sure not to go wide crash or get penalized. SO TC and extra distance for slowing down I wonder what was your actual race like, any upload on that?

Same thing happened me two seasons ago at green hell, came in on lap 4 as the rain started to bucket down to see I was using my own car with custom livery so didn’t have either wet compound of tyre 🙃

Rory the exact same thing happened to me in the first race . I was battling for the win and didn’t buy inters . I don’t know why you have an disadvantage if you use your car wich you had to buy . I mean you can just rent it and everything is setup . That frustrated me. After this race , the following 2 didn’t went as the first one. It felt like I got robbed ..😢

😂😂 - schoolboy error! I did exactly the same - at start of race saw there was chance of rain and realised had I hadn’t bought inters - fortunately it was a GT2 league and rain never arrived - so I qualified third and finished third and didn’t need to change tyres….

how is it in the rules in that example when someone wants to pit but right next to him is another driver. who has right to go and who should slow down? I think that one who goes to PIT because other driver don´t have to know you wanna PIT.. So I honestly think you had to slow down and let him go... but that thing with tyres was kindda funny :D good racing anyways with no dirty drivers. I´m just a begginer and I don´t have a wheel so just controler and of course back there with all those dirty drivers is just annoying too often..

When Rory went to pit shouldn't he have slowed down abit to let the guy pass instead of trying to cut across him? Genuine question btw, if I'm wrong lmk cos I personally would've let him by then went to pit instead cutting across

That’s silly. They should at least allow you to purchase the tires mid race at a higher price or maybe a time penalty. I’d never have thought you had to buy them with your own car.

No. If you buy a car to tune, you have to buy all the tires. They are cheap enough. 😮

Same as they don't give you any other upgrades. Why would something you hadn't purchased suddenly be available?

Compared to other sims and real life you actually have to pay attention to things. In GT7 there are minimal things you have to account for. I’ve messed up before and not had the wets in races where rain comes. You should be looking through the race details to be prepared. In real life if you run outta gas it’s your fault your weren’t aware of it and we don’t think it’s silly that there isn’t a gas station in our car

@@aaroncampbell113 because it’s literally the only thing you’re already capable of changing mid race. Making the mistake of not having purchased them before literally ruins the race. If you could buy them mid race even with a penalty you could at least finish the race without it being stupid.

What benefit do you get putting all the brake to the rear?

You wear less the fronts. Since this track punish them a lot, the best is to put the brake bias all the way to the back, to improve the lifespan/performance of the fronts

Yes, every car you buy or win if it's in your garage you have to buy each type of tire. Just like in real life racing. 😊 If you "rent"( free so not truly right would be they should charge 100k credits maybe to rent) the car for the race, the race team would obviously have all the tires so you "get" them automatically.

@@mayday92 maybe but it makes it more "like real". Besides it's only credits which can be easily earned. It takes 10 seconds to buy 3 types of tires. Soooo hard 😁🤗 GL racing 🏁

@@mayday92 no, no warning it's on you as a racer to be smart enough to buy them as soon as you buy the car or get in to drive a gift car and you can I believe check and purchase right there in lobby from race shop b4 the race during warm up. So there's no one to blame but oneself. Poor Rory, but I think I did this once too but I was a beginner then, Rory just "bloked" it at the worst possible time. It happens, makes for great KZbin videos though 😁

I want to see this in forza too, if you have no grip,50 km /h or crashing ,not with soft or medium 200 km easy drive on rain ... That's the difference. And the fuel if I put for 2 laps and I need than more 3 not giving me a custom 7 or 8 I don't need so much ! And others...

Not so much a bad mistake as a rookie mistake, however, if there was more rain in the daily races then you would have all the tyres for every car and it wouldn't be an issue

A dirty destroyed my car at lap6 , had to pit twice . Heavy damage just makes victims more victims. PD should go back to low damage IMO.

Ack!! You didn't know all the details of the race. You also counted on the rain, I heard an old crew chief say NEVER, count on the rain unless your getting wet.
