Years ago in about 2012 I bought my first laptop as a kid of 12. I bought it to game a little and do stuff for school. I did'nt know anything about pc specs so sombody at the shop helped me find a laptop for me in my budget (600 euro's). Years after heaving bought the thing I bought AC black flag which run like shit on the machine. about 18 fps or so at 1024p or something simular. This resulted in me going to KZbin to find ways to increase my performance. After doing that and still not being happy I went and researched further and further. Because of the research In started to learn about hardware more and more. This resulted in me having learned a lot about the current hardware (R9 200, GTX 900, hasswell). I evantually knew enough tot build my very own gaming pc. so after having saved up money for like a year (+money from before I decided to buy the pc) I would finnaly be able to build a system. This was in januari of 2016. The system I went to build had an i5 4690k (running at 4.6ghz) + R9 380x (running at 1100/1150mhz). Skylake just released buy it was just a bit to expensive for me because of the ddr4 and stuff. After finishing the build a new world opened of 60fps gaming and having alle the performance I needed. This eventualy got me into learning more stuff about running servers to. At this time period I had to choose what I wanted to do after high school to, I wen't for IT-manager. Currently I'm almost at the end of thr first year (out of three). So to conclude all of this, Assassin's Creed Blag Flag actually made me choose what job I would choose to do later in life.

@swapnilgohil43277 жыл бұрын
Twan Duvigneau Well almost the same happened to me, I did played far cry 3 and fifa 17 on my hd 4400 laptop but it isn't that playable. I have been researching for like 6 months now, I now know almost every new hardware and how it performs. I asked my mom to buy me but well she said NO! I'm crying now because all I searched was just a waste. A bit of twist in my story but still I'm broken now and in my country we can't work for more money(I mean even after working for hours you get some $20 a month and also the fact people don't need 11th graders to work for them). So be happy with what you already have because a lot of people just dream of having those things😭
@twanduvigneau58097 жыл бұрын
Knowledge is never a waste. My parents would give me some pocket money every month (every month I would get my age in euro's). But there where also other things I could get money from like my birthday and some other stuff :). Did'nt spend that much money in between buying my laptop and buying my PC. I guess I also had some luck on my side. One example my mother would not really trust me building a PC, but my father did.

Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory, Conker's Bad Fur Day, Pikmin 2, Metroid Prime 2, and Metal Gear Solid 3 all strike me as quite a bit more impressive than the games that were shown on medium/low presets here (and the San Andreas PC port looks like hot garbage compared to PS2 or Xbox because it's such a lazy port).

Would sure like to see some gameplay with this card considering it's the only PCI only card I seem to come across on the internet and it scores a 6.1 I believe in Windows 7 experience index gaming graphics would sure like to see if it's a better budget card than my HD 6450 on pci-e considering it gets around the same scores on WEI

Hey RGinHD! Yesterday, I got a Dell Optiplex 745! I want to put in a Graphics Card. But I don't know how to power it. Is there a cable from the Power Supply left? Or should I buy a new Power Supply? I will put in a Radeon HD 6670, a Core 2 Duo E8400 and 4 GB DDR2 RAM.

Everything here seems to be under CRTL, I had one FX5200 ones, it ended up in smoke after a capacitor shorted it out just after the warranty had expired, and it also destroyed the AGP port on the motherboard. If i had added your potato to the equation I could had used the GPU to bake it and at least get a last meal out of that computer

I also had fx5200 back in the day! I didn't have any problems with it!

25p that's a bargain. The FX5200 was a massive improvement over the ATI Radeon 7000 I was using with a 1 gig Duron system over 10 years ago.

Am I the only one that legit finds it cool that you can see the copper coils inside the fan housing?

OH MY GOD YOU ACTUALLY DID IT! I saw the comment asking you to do this and you said yes, and the dude told you not to pull his chain and you actually DID IT

I knew as soon as I saw a potato next to a questionable graphics card that I had to watch this video.

actually,not installing any video driver and remaining on the standard VGA adapter will give you better performance via WARP.

I have an old FX 5200 somewhere in my room. It's from my Power Mac G5 so it has extra pins for (I assume) powering a monitor via the ADC connector. At some point I want to see if it will still fit in a PC

I'm sure that I use to play Team fortress 2 on my old Pentium 4, which had a Geforce 4 MX440, that I got in 2003. It wasn't much of a gpu, and I think it only supported up to DX7, but it worked fine.

I remember my old FX 5200. I had to use a mod called Oldblivion to play Oblivion on low at 640x480.

Dude, look at these thicc AGP contact pads. 25p for that card probably would pay for itself in gold alone! Plus there's some gold in the gpu core itself, and also some copper in coils.

some people complain about how their computer is slow and a "potato", this is literally worse than a potato. it's somehow cheaper. a lime is a little cheaper than this, but I live in belize so... limes are like $0.30 USD or $0.60 BZE

0.3 pents per potato is quite expensive, in my country it's almost 4 times cheaper

Man, i remember that the 64bit version of the fx5200 was actually way worse than my overclocked Geforce 3 ti 200 128MB at the time. Even if stock it would beat it.

This was my first Discrete Graphics Card. OHHH THE MEMORIES, I remember till this day, how happy I was to see NFSU and Quake 3 run smoothly for the first time :D

I tried to run TF2 on a netbook once, I think for some Steam Christmas sale event item or whatever. Pretty sure it actually runs better here.

I call BS on the Underground 2 FPS. I was running that game on an MX440, predecessor to the FX5200 and was getting much higher FPS and playing at 1024x768. You probably have AA or some other demanding setting on. I played that game A LOT. A friend of mine got the FX5200 when he updated his PC later, and that was running about the same as the MX440 with a bit more details from the shaders they introduced with that era. Nice video and channel BTW.
@bombardier60337 жыл бұрын
I have an FX5500 and that runs NFS Carbon at 1024x768 at around 30 fps on low settings.See if you can find one of those and compare it to the fx5200. maybe do an entire fx5000 series shootout

You're right on the q6600 having a lot to do with the speed. In 2003 I ran a 5600fx (with 256mb ram - woo!) on a Northwood p4 2.67 and it sucked :( I couldn't even play halo at a decent speed. Within 6 months I got an ati radeon 9600xt, which was abou 30% faster.

I so wanted this graphics card back then, like 15 or 16 years ago. My friend had it, and in my (first) PC I only had geforce MX440... those 64megs or ram was just the difference I needed to run Half Life smoothly... Though your processor is kind of overkill, we had like Pentium D's and Ahtlons/X2 back then. Well I only had Duron 1300.. :D
