Thanks for making a straight forward comparison with the rosewood American strat. Those are two guitars I've been super interested in lately. I think I like the looks of the American pro more but for some reason I feel like the player series has more grit and just a better tone in general. Wasn't expecting that

To my ears, the Player sounded just as good, if not better than, the American. Lovin' that Shell Pink vibe!

This would go nicely with my usa shell pink jazz w/all rosewood neck. I think it was a GC/MF exclusive a couple years ago.

There is a chance that you have player strat guitar without sharp edges. They are mostly sharp

The professional sounds a bit more bassy. Other than that I can't really hear a difference. I have US-standards, Lone-Stars and a Elite-Strat. Since last year I have 2 Player Plus and they are nearly just as good. Nothing justifies double the price. This one looks really beautiful.

did you try the player plus? I really liked the neck on that one. It had 12 inch radius, wider spacing etc. No pink though!!! Also considering the Schecter nick Johnston, but that has a totally different neck again. Will probably just settle on this one TBH. It is a great modding platform also

How's the fretboard edges on this Player? i had some Players before but the main memory is the sharp edges of the fretboard

It’s so sad that the MIM are so overpriced now cuz they’ve always made good guitars (just like this). I guess the silver lining is that it doesn’t take much longer to save for a true American model. I recently bought a new American Performer Strat for $1,100 do prefer it to my MIM HSS Strat.
