Why you play with your fingers? When you played clean, all three positions sounded muffled, without any treble…

Even if this wasn’t a stupid question, the Question’s assumption just isn’t true. Petty IS considered prolific. No thumbs up. No subscribe. No sense.

For sure squire isn't a copy from this fender. It seems another instrument. Maybe it's necessary to adjust amp (or, to try to left equalized both, not only unplug one and plug other)

I play mine way more than my MIM. Its just a lovely instrument to play, Mine had the mini pots in it, swapped them for CTS pots, Also changed the bridge pickup for a Wilkinson vintage one ( not that there was really much wrong with the fitted one ). A small setup and that was it. I will keep the tuners as they never go out of tune.

It really is a bad ass name. This is what DLR brought to the band. That kind of cool

This is the confusion that divides VH fans; who led the band during DLR and Sammy! Alex and Eddie created the VH sound before they came to America; They Created every aspect of the technical sounds by manipulating the equipment to perfection and executed the rest through innovative guitar playing way before they added vocals to the group; they were NOT 4 guys starting a band together. They rejected DLR in their first meeting about him joining, but took a 2nd look, lucky for us! But it was ALWAYS clear that the brothers were the driving force for direction of the band the whole time even with Sammy; We don’t need disputes as fans as to which VH was better, because they were both phenomenal and separate, but the the only thing consistent was the music; every time a VH song came on we knew in the first seconds, that’s EVH guitar before the first vocal syllable came out no matter the front man! As far as the better front man is clear; Sammy and DLR both had solo careers,so how did that work out for DLR? Sammy made Sammy; Alex and Eddie made VH; VH made DLR; All DLR made on his own was skyscraper, where does that rank?

As the single most successful person to ever be a part of Van Halen, Sammy Hagar is probably the one person you can believe when trying to understand the mess the band became after he was gone. Sam has said more than once, Ed and Alex were not LEADERS or savvy concerning the BUSINESS of Van Halen. He has said, "i ran this band when I was in it and before me Dave Roth ran the band". I tend to believe it. The band was LOST after Hagar left. Yet, for a very short period of time, too short for most to even notice, the band was just as lost after Dave left and before Sam showed up. Ed's wife wrote about in her book. No one needs to be both a Sam and Dave fan equally to see this. You can say, "Van Halen was better with Dave and I never liked Hagar in the band" You can say, "the Band improved greatly with addition of a better vocalist in Sammy Hagar". Either way you might see this or even if you like both versions.......it has to be pretty clear it was Dave and then Sam who ran the show when this band was actually successful. Is this really surprising? After all how many GREAT bands and/or individual musicians amounted to no more than a "flash in the pan" flaming out after a figurative 15 min of fame. We don't get to see or hear about the behind the scenes business stuff that can made a Mediocre band last and get really successful when the business of the band is done really well and we don't really ever get to hear about the mistakes and lost opportunity when behind the scenes miss-management blows it all away in spite of BIG TIME talent. Sam as successful in business decisions isn't really in debate. The man owns quite a few businesses outside of music and one in particular made him more money than a very long career in music ever did. In the end Sam never let drink or drugs get in the way and he never forgot the business opportunities that fame on stage and lot of $$$ coming in provided him. When Ed and Alex were pretty deep in the depths of personal problems, bad luck intervened. Ed Leffler up and died on them. In need of new management Alex's wife just happened to be the sister of Ray Daniels, famous as the long time manager of Rush. He got the nod as new manager against the wishes of Sammy Hagar. Daniels was clearly the wrong manager. Rush was very different band. No Videos, No play on MTV, No singles or pop chart success. Rush made their way to Music success in a way that was so different from how Van Halen had done it there was almost nothing to recommend Ray Daniels as manager for Van Halen. I'm guessing the family ties, as Alexx's brother-in-law, sealed the deal.......and the rest is now just sad Van Halen history. Eddie would eventually fire Ray Daniels but by then the damage had been done. The band never recovered and never again would see the success it had between '78-'96. I'll say it again you don't even have to be a "I only like Dave" or a "I liked them better with Sammy" fan to acknowledge this. It's crystal clear that without Dave or Sam.....this band was doomed on the complete lack of leadership it desperately needed.

What amp are you plugged into? I’ve got a Fender Blues Junior and the pedal has nearly no effect on the tone. This is my first pedal and the guys at the guitar shop recommended it. I’m also using a Fender Stratocaster as well?
