I absolutely love it when someone takes a walk thru video of salvage/junk yards. I understand that some are too big to see all, but your time is much appreciated! I thought about doing this as well, and I figured an owner probably wouldn't want me there filming his/her stuff. I even thought of breaking up a walk-thru into separate videos of the yard was too big. Thank you very much for the video!!

Used to have a budy down in western Tenn. with a salvage yard, he'd sell whole cars, sell stripping rights to a car, all you could take off in a day (possibly two is he was feeling generous) but never pulled a part himself. Unfortunately he passed away about 20 years ago

@@drskull9 it's seriously reminds me of a story of two guys talking read aloud in line at the McDonald's 20 years ago. One of them turned 86. Two boys probably about 15 years of age and they were good boys. One said to the other wow that is old. The man that just turned 86 could obviously hear well. He was talking loud so his friend could hear him. He told the young man yeah I used to think it was old too until I turned 85. That has stuck with me. But I'm glad your friend did have a longer life. But person still misses their friend when they pass away.

What a iron gold mine! I could spend days there! Love to save some of those Corvairs, Rare 61 Oldsmobile limo, & Cadillac professional cars (especially the ambulances and flower cars). I spotted several vairy stripped Corvairs! We've got a guy coming up from Oregon to get the quarter panel off a '62 700 sedan! I spotted at least 3 Forward Control Corvair 95 (Corvan & 2 Greenbriers!) That red '61Corvair Greenbrier had a spot light on it (wonder if it was a fire dept rig, I've seen a few). What a great video! Glad you got some goodies!

My buddy had a Chevy Monza (like that Skylark) that was a factory V8 4spd. It actually had some balls . Sorry Silas, but we used to call those fake continental tire stampings on Valiant deck lids "Toilet Seats" ! 🤭. 59 Furys had them too. We used to call 71-73 Mustang Fastbacks "The Whale" cause they were so big, heavy and slow. Especially when compared to 64 1/2 - 66s. Those 58-60 window Dodge Suburbans were called "Town Wagons". They just raced a rustbucket 58 Studebaker President on Coldwar Motors Channel. A lot of Dodge School Buses were sold to Indian Reservation Schools. Those little Dodge vans were called the A100. I like the 53 Dodge "Leaping Ram" hood ornaments too. I put one on my 55 Dodge C3H truck which never came with one. That Imperial flower car is ultra rare. Someone should take that on as a project. Another good vid Silas. 👊😎👍

Honda Civics were available for a few years with a CVCC engine; CVCC stood for Controlled Vortex Combustion Chamber, essentially a pre-combustion engine with a small intake valve in the precup with the sparkplug and of course the large combustion chamber was configured as normal but with no spark plug. There were two intake valves, one of which was normal and near the exhaust valve, but the other intake valve was relatively tiny and was of course in the top of the pre-cup near the spark plug. The idea being the richer mixture in the pre-cup would ignite the lean mixture in the main combustion chamber. The carburetor was configured with one small throat jetted richer and one jetted leaner; the thing worked well, got good fuel mileage while meeting the strict exhaust emission standards of the day. I remember those well because i worked on them often back when they were being sold.

I'm going to make a prediction.. hear me out .. I just had the brakes done on my Edge. It cost me $1,000 just for the back end, rotors calipers and brake pads. Parts are insanely expensive. I think that is because they do not want us gassers to be able to find parts because they want us to buy electric cars. Places like Browns are going to be Kings among men because they have parts. Even if you have to rebuild them they will be available. Because you won't be able to buy new parts.. this in the future is going to be a huge money maker. Mark my words

Used to be a small junkyard with only pre 1970 cars only in Fordsville Ky. It was named Brown's. When i was in my 20s i rode with my moms then husband took me there ans we walked around. He picked out three 1947-1950 chevrolets. He had already brought home a complete 1947 Fleetline two door car that we soaked the cyls for 2 months and messed around with the rest of the car, brakes and etc. then got the stovebolt to turn over after soaking in kroil. Once the starter turned thru the harness we pumped the oil out, set up the original ignition to fire, carb had already been gone thru. A replacement factory fuel pump and a new tank supplied the fuel. It started and ran. Got it to idle and we drove it down Ky-54 just like it was meant to be. That car had the vac canister that would shift the three on the tree "automatically" if the revs were up then the clutch pushed in at a certain rpm. Weirdest poor man auto ever. Anyway there was a total of 4 chevrolets pulled from that yard. He put 3 down in the bottom for "someday" but truth is those other 3 were too far gone. One was a 50 Chev hardtop 2 door. My love is Oldsmobiles and this Brown's yard had more than a few. The place is closed to the public now, but i think it still exists.

As a car enthusiast I didn't care for this channel and what he does for a living. Ive recently done a full circle. Realizing that as much as I hate it, the days of people enthusiastic about autos has come to an end. Someone has to clean up our messes and salvage some ideas of art. As we come into this new world of artificial intelligence, there is not going to be any room for reminiscing our past. We will be letting go of most everything about how we even live today. This new age shift will happen fast and folks like him are busy getting us prepared for it. Thank you for helping us.

This place would be SOLD OUT! if located in The Netherlands! We love vintage American cars, but they are rare here.

Nice video. Thabks for your input & sharing your knowledge. Your perspective is empathized, though I hate that so many are being crushed. I don't entirely agree with your opinions, though to each his own. We can't own them all, yet they are being crushed at such a rate, & picked over for souvineers, that folks like us whom genuinely need the parts are feeling the wieght of it all. I literally can't afford to take time off from hunting. Its unsettling. Thankful there are plenty of yards like this one & that you cared to share its name & location during your walk through. I see parts I need, yet I can't yet make that far a trip.❤

I get it Silas they are all cool. And what are the odds of finding a Peugeot wagon in the US? They did not import too many.

As to feeling old, I long ago observed that a sure sign you're getting old is when the cars you rode in as as kid are being driven in founder's day parades.
