Tree bark produces oils, which are drawn to the surface of the bark in warm, dry weather. When it rains, these ingredients dissolve in the water and flow down the tree trunks. They start to bond chemically and create soap molecules. The rough surface of the bark helps to agitate the mixture - just like the friction created when you scrub a soapy dish in the sink - and by the time it gets to the bottom, the process has resulted in a little patch of soapy foam.

I'm so glad you was able to take care of this. I so understand we had a flood in 2006 in Northeast Arkansas, that was unbelievable. 17" of rain in about 5 hours. My husband swam out with our bull to save him. We lost several head of cattle and lots of calves. We were calving at the time. It was horrible and unbelievable. Just a flash flood in our little area of our farm. We were blessed with wonderful neighbors that came with boats and helped us get as many head of cattle out. I Pray for all of you and anyone in this path of high water. Please be safe Danny and Wanda. Good Good people. God is Good.

Soap suds on tree's is a subject that another channel I follow on KZbin mentioned a few yrs ago. SWAMP BOSS in Upstate New York area has lived 50+ yrs in the forest and said that when it rains, every species of trees and rivers are full of suds and bubbles. And he recorded it as it rained. This was probably 5 yrs ago he spoke about that. I feel it's whatever they drop on us from the skies. Stay safe and we love ya

I feel bad for you all. I have a creek that goes thru my back yard, so I deal with this during heavy rains and hurricane storms. Prayers sent your way.

Glad y'all are OK with minimal damage. And very thankful the ground wasn't already saturated when this hit. Louisiana caught a lot too but I believe the brunt of it hit Northeast Texas and y'all a lot worse. Praying the possible hurricanes in the Atlantic miss the gulf and we don't catch any of them. Please be careful in your clean-up. Thanks for the video.

Wow! That’s crazy. It’s a blessing that your ponds were low to be able to capture the access water.

Good morning Danny and Wanda! God bless you and prayers for all! You two are such an inspiration to me. We are still dry here in the NC foothills. We live on a watershed lake and remember flooding with hurricanes but that is crazy!

I keep thinking about the weather extremes Danny was talking about....and there it is, big as life. The cows looked like they were having a day at a water park to play. Y'all may have over-prayed for the rain, or all the subscribers collectively prayed for you to have rain. So happy the barn stayed dry. This was a good litmus test for that. The soap suds were completely strange. Wow.

Water is a powerful force to deal with... Looks like pond is full ! We can make all the plans we want but there are times we get way more than expected.

My Goodness! Glad the damage wasn't any worse than it was, but very interesting about the soap suds. Your place is so beautiful with all the hard work you've put into it, and I know there is a concern in the back of your minds regarding rising water not caused by rain, so while I watching Kevin and Sara talking about their new home the other day, I kept thinking Danny and Wanda should buy their original homestead property! There may still be challenges there with what's coming, but at least your homestead wouldn't be under the ocean. After seeing what a few inches of rain can do, I'm thinking that idea sounds better and better. Take Care!!
