I love to watch the horses and guards but i can’t bear to watch how the tourists treat the horses and guards, so I have to switch off ,this upsets me so much I can’t imagine how the guards feel having to put up with ignorant people who think they are there for them to treat them as a side show purely for their enjoyment.

For those people who MAY be interested, the female TROOPER, not an officer led him back inside, he handed off his sword and went out the back where the pit crew had already been to the wardrobe to get out a spare cloak. They don't keep them on when off duty, they are stored in a closed wardrobe out the back for such occasions. Other types of Armies in the world might let you get away with losing that top button, but not the second most senior Regiment in the British army. The Blues and Royals are second only to the Lifeguards, and the ONLY British Regiment to be known by their nickname officially. Their full name is The Royal Horse Guards and The Royal Dragoons (1st Dragoons)

@@cypherknot They will have a vet at the stable there, and the Trooper, while changing his cloak, will also have his horse inspected. Horse's health is of paramount importance over and above everything.

He had to change cloak. The button at top had popped. As he entered stable, he handed off sword and started removing cloak. In stable alley he changed cloak and returned, never dismounting. They knew everyone can see and film inside stable. Went to alley for privacy.

It was the cloak top button when the guard came out again it was done up nothing serious just being professional that should have been caught on inspectionbut its a easy miss human error and a quick fix

It was caught at inspection, that’s one if the first things you see, CoH taking the sword whilst the Trooper wrestles with the button. It obviously must’ve either worked loose or fallen off after that.

It looks like they swapped or adjusted the bit. Since it involves the full bridle and reins, its not an in-box fix.

That’s not entirely accurate since the horses don’t wear a recognised ‘bridle’ as such, therefore the bit/s can be changed without fear of losing the horse because the head-collar is still in situ. Otherwise I agree, better to do it, if indeed that’s what is was, out of sight of the public!

@@j.ksmith7432Ope………..n Eyes!😂. (Military folk will get that) The fastening above the top button was undone. It was picked up on inspection, the trooper appeared to fasten it correctly. When the horse was lead away the the collar fastening was undone again, and fastened out of sight of the tourists. Professional to the core👌. Nothing to do with the “tack” as it all fitted perfectly. Professional to the core👌! 😊

I had to watch this twice because I thought I was seeing things. The two horse guards went out. One was having problems with his button. They go to act like they are going to stand guard, but Both horse guards leave, so the one horse guard can fix his button. The Army officer comes out and goes and gets the horse guard and brings him back. When did he get there with his horse, because the two horse guards and no one else came out after they went in?

There were already horse guards in the box, they were changing over. The new guards walk in the back of the box, the old guards come out of the front.

That building is listed, it was built in the 18th Century to replace the previous building on the same site. It has a long and interesting history if you’d care to look it up, they can’t just let any old Tom, Dick or Harry mess around with the stone. It was pressure washed apparently whilst they were stood down.

@@pierrerabier6388 did you read my comment? It’s a listed building with a long history. You can’t just slop paint over Portland Stone and Welsh Slate, there would be hell to pay. The woodwork needs doing, I had hoped it would be done during the close-down but the weather was too cold and wet for the paint to dry. Surely you have old buildings that need to be handled with care and not by the local bodget and bunkoff?
