Ive learned a lot from the 3 of you over the years. Been working this land for 8 years and learning as i go. Fruit production is starting to get decent. Could have been better if i knew what i was doing in the first few years but I guess most of us go through that at first 😂

Best lessons are the ones learned. We’ve all been there. Glad to know there’s another productive food garden growing in Hawaii.

I seem to have seen you guys on YT before, quite a few years ago. At that time, I was in southern California. I moved to the Big Island 2-1/2 years ago. I have settled down somewhere in Puna District. I can see that you two have accomplished a lot. Good job! I just bought an 1 acre lot, plan to grow fruit trees. I have one question for you, about buying soil from Hamakua.
@HomesteadinHawaii5 ай бұрын
Aloha Jerry. Yeah, Mike and Paulina have the ur channel @offgridhawaii. But what question do you have about soil, if it’s hamakua you gotta add some good stuff like compost and nitrogen rich fertilizer
@jerryyeh22515 ай бұрын
@@HomesteadinHawaii I assume you two are, like me, somewhere in Puna District. My questions are: 1. Who is your soil supplier in Hamakua? 2. Do you need to hire the truck yourself? My original plan is to hire some bulldozer to clear the land, then hire trucks to bring gravels, sands and mulches (from Hilo landfill), mix them together, then add fertilizer periodically. My 1.1 acres lot will be devoted to agriculture only because I already have a house to live in.
